Diesel Sdn Bhd, mensasarkan memproses kira-kira lima tan minyak masak terpakai

sehari untuk penghasilan diesel bagi pasaran di negeri Melaka.

Ketua Pegawai Eksekutifnya, Shen Set Ho berkata pemprosesan minyak masak

terpakai yang dijalankan di kilangnya di Taman Datuk Tamby Chik Karim Batu

Berendam itu bertujuan meningkatkan penghasilan bahan api diesel bagi kenderaan

dan kegunaan industri tempatan.

Beliau berkata inisiatif yang dilaksanakan dengan kerjasama Kerajaan

Negeri Melaka itu juga sebagai langkah meningkatkan kesedaran tentang

kepentingan kitar semula di kalangan pengguna dan mengatasi masalah pencemaran

air akibat pembuangan minyak secara tidak terurus di saluran air.

"Kilang pemprosesan kami mampu memproses sekurang-kurangnya enam tan minyak

masak terpakai sehari dan kami hanya menghasilkan produk biodiesel sahaja,"

katanya kepada pemberita selepas pelancaran pusat pengumpulan minyak masak

terpakai yang dirasmikan Ketua Menteri Melaka, Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam di

Bukit Melaka di sini, hari ini.

Beliau berkata syarikat menerima sambutan baik daripada penduduk Taman

Bukit Melaka dengan jumlah penerimaan minyak masak terpakai seberat satu tan

dalam tempoh dua minggu pusat itu diwujudkan.

Justeru katanya, program tersebut akan diperluaskan di seluruh negeri itu

melalui pembukaan beberapa pusat pengumpulan baru di kawasan perumahan dan

menempatkan tong penyimpanan minyak masak terpakai di premis makanan yang

berminat menyertainya.

Shen berkata syarikat akan membeli minyak masak terpakai tersebut pada

harga RM1 bagi sekilo minyak dan sehingga kini sebanyak 38 premis makanan di

negeri itu telah berdaftar melalui program berkenaan.

Beliau berkata bagi projek yang sama, sebanyak 10 tan minyak masak

terpakai berjaya diproses sehari bagi penghasilan biodiesel di Pulau Pinang dan

Kuala Lumpur.

Syarikatnya juga akan melaksanakan pemprosesan sisa makanan bagi

menghasilkan baja kompos organik di kilang terbaru mereka di Pasar Borong Majlis

Perbandaran Hang Tuah Jaya di sini awal tahun depan, katanya.
