KUALA LUMPUR, 22 Jun (Bernama) -- Indeks Pencemaran Udara (IPU) di Muar

mencapai tahap amat berbahaya pada pukul 4 petang ini dengan bacaan 453, semakin

merosot berbanding 373 yang direkod pada 11 pagi.

Pengerusi Bencana Alam (Pencemaran Udara dan Jerebu) Daerah Muar Abdul

Rahman Mohamed Dewam berkata kualiti udara di daerah itu mencatat kemerosotan

sejak awal pagi dengan bacaan IPU 276 pada 7 pagi, 312 (8 pagi), 338 (9 pagi)

dan 360 (10 pagi).

Menurut laporan Jabatan Alam Sekitar (JAS) menerusi laman webnya, 10 kawasan

mencatat IPU tidak sihat di seluruh negara dengan tiga daripadanya di Johor

iaitu Kota Tinggi dengan bacaan 189, Larkin Lama (167) dan Pasir Gudang (187).

Dua kawasan di Melaka turut mencatat IPU tidak sihat iaitu Bandaraya Melaka

(188) dan Bukit Rambai (170). Sebanyak 39 kawasan mencatat IPU sederhana dan dua

lagi dikategorikan baik

Berdasarkan indeks kualiti, bacaan antara 0 dan 50 dikategorikan baik, 51

hingga 100 (sederhana), 101 ke 200 (tidak sihat), 201 hingga 300 (sangat tidak

sihat) dan 300 ke atas sebagai berbahaya.

JEREBU-IPU (PETANG) 2 KUALA LUMPUR

Sementara itu Menteri Sumber Asli dan Alam Sekitar Datuk Seri G Palanivel

berkata beliau dijadual ke Jakarta pada Rabu untuk mengadakan perbincangan

dengan rakan sejawatannya di Indonesia Prof Dr Balthasar Kambuayato mengenai isu

jerebu.

Pertemuan itu, katanya dijangka membincangkan mengenai penguatkuasaan

undang-undang yang lebih ketat dan langkah-langkah proaktif mengenai perkara itu

seperti pembenihan awan.

Sementara itu JAS menerusi kenyataan hari ini berkata peningkatan IPU pada

tahap tidak sihat dan berbahaya masih dipengaruhi pencemaran jerebu merentasi

sempadan berikutan musim Monsun Barat Daya yang sedang dialami negara dan

dijangka berterusan sehingga September ini.

"Peta jerebu serantau dikeluarkan Pusat Meteorologi Khas Asean (ASMC) pada

21 Jun (semalam) menunjukkan asap jerebu yang bertambah tebal dari kawasan

kebakaran di Wilayah Riau, Sumatera Tengah, Indonesia dan tiupan angin dari arah

barat daya membawa asap jerebu ke kawasan tengah dan selatan pantai barat

Semenanjung Malaysia," katanya.

Jabatan itu berkata ASMC juga melaporkan titik panas di Sumatera semalam

telah berkurangan kepada 21 berbanding 64 pada Khamis lepas dan 173 pada Rabu

lepas.

JEREBU-IPU (PETANG) 3 (AKHIR) KUALA LUMPUR

Katanya larangan pembakaran terbuka di bawah Akta Kualiti Alam Sekeliling

(Pindaan) 2001 yang dikeluarkan Ketua Pengarah Alam Sekitar Rabu lepas di

Selangor, Melaka dan Johor masih berkuatkuasa kecuali beberapa aktiviti seperti

pembakaran mayat dan pembakaran bagi tujuan keagamaan.

Sementara itu di SHAH ALAM, Pengarah Jabatan Alam Sekitar (JAS) Selangor

Siti Zaleha Ibrahim berkata kualiti udara di kebanyakan tempat di negeri itu

mengalami kemerosotan hari ini, namun jabatan itu menjangka kualiti udara akan

bertambah baik beberapa hari lagi.

"Pemantauan berterusan akan dijalankan sehingga IPU mencatat bacaan sihat,

terutama di Pelabuhan Klang yang berdekatan dengan Sumatera. JAS akan mengambil

tindakan terhadap mana-mana pihak yang melanggar peraturan larangan pembakaran

terbuka," katanya ketika dihubungi Bernama.

Kualiti udara di dua kawasan di Selangor petang ini berada pada tahap tidak

sihat iaitu Pelabuhan Klang dengan bacaan 145 dan Banting 107.
