Sidang Dewan Rakyat hari ini menolak usul Ahli Parlimen Kuantan, Fuziah Salleh (gambar) untuk mengisytiharkan darurat bagi kawasan yang terlibat dalam banjir walaupun beberapa bandar di Pahang dan Terengganu termasuk Kuantan, Indera Mahkota dan Paya Besar di Pahang serta Kemaman di Terengganu hampir lumpur.

Speaker, Tan Sri Pandikar Aman Mulia, berkata usul tersebut ditolak kerana memerlukan notis selama dua hari secara bertulis.

Fuziah yang mempertahankan tindakannya itu berkata, apa yang diusulkan adalah perkara kecemasan dan Speaker boleh mempertimbang untuk mengenepikan peraturan kerana ia melibatkan nyawa rakyat.

"Saya tahu memang dalam peraturan memerlukan notis selama dua hari tapi Tuan Speaker ini soal kecemasan yang berlaku semalam, tidak mungkin perlukan notis dua hari, kalau macam itu orang mati dah," katanya di Dewan Rakyat, hari ini.

Bagaimanapun, Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim akhirnya bangun memberi penjelasan bahawan bantuan kini digerakkan dengan menghantar pasukan penyelamat termasuk tentera.

Sementara itu, Bernama melaporkan keadaan banjir di Pahang kini semakin buruk dan semakin banyak mangsa banjir dipindahkan ke pusat pemindahan di negeri ini.

Bandar Kuantan kini hampir lumpuh apabila kebanyakan kawasan terputus bekalan elektrik dan air, selain jalan raya di sekitar bandar dinaiki air sehingga melebihi 1 meter akibat hujan tidak berhenti hingga hari ini.

Beberapa kawasan perkampungan dan perumahan di sekitar Kuantan turut terputus bekalan elektrik dan air, selain dinaiki air sehingga melebihi dua meter.

Menurut Jurucakap Bilik Gerakan Banjir Ibu Pejabat Polis Kontinjen negeri, sehingga jam 11 pagi tadi, sebanyak 11,721 mangsa banjir ditempatkan di pusat pemindahan banjir di daerah Kuantan, Rompin, Pekan, Maran dan Jerantut.

"Di Kuantan, sebanyak 4,148 mangsa banjir ditempatkan di 33 pusat pemindahan, Rompin (3,615 mangsa di 10 pusat pemindahan), Pekan (2,716 mangsa di 9 pusat pemindahan), Maran (1,179 mangsa di sembilan pusat pemindahan) dan Jerantut (63 mangsa di sebuah pusat pemindahan).

Tinjauan Bernama mendapati kebanyakan premis perniagaan, swasta dan institusi kewangan di bandar Kuantan tidak beroperasi berikutan bekalan elektrik terputus.

Pengamal media di Pahang turut menghadapi kesulitan untuk beroperasi bagi melaporkan situasi banjir terkini di Pahang.

Penduduk di kawasan rendah dan kawasan perumahan di sekitar Kuantan diarah bersiap sedia berpindah berikutan hujan masih berterusan dan dijangka berlaku air pasang dari laut dan bertembung dengan air Sungai Kuantan serta Sungai Lembing pada malam ini.

Beberapa pusat pemindahan juga mengalami masalah bekalan makanan dan keperluan asas berikutan kawasan penempatan mangsa banjir tidak dapat dihubungi menerusi jalan darat.

Sementara itu, pelbagai pihak khasnya kerajaan, parti politik dan pertubuhan sukarela menubuhkan bilik gerakan bagi membantu mangsa banjir.

Pemuda PAS turut menubuhkan bilik gerakan di samping Unit Amalnya diarahkan bergerak bagi membantu mangsa.
