Bangladeshi worker dies after wall collapses on him – Bernama
A Bangladeshi worker was killed after a concrete wall fell on him at a construction site in Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah, George Town, yesterday.
The victim, known only as Shamsul, 30, died on the spot in the incident which occurred at 9.20 pm.
Lebuh Pantai Fire and Rescue Department assistant superintendent Md Suhaimi Md Abdullah said the man's body was pinned under the concrete wall and could only be extricated by the rescue team at 10.10 pm.
"The victim was working in the area when the wall collapsed. The rescue team took some time to extricate the body due to the weight of the concrete wall.
"The cause of the incident is still being investigated," he said at the scene.
The body was taken to Penang Hospital for post-mortem. – Bernama, December 23, 2014.
