PORT DICKSON, 18 April (Bernama) -- Seramai 320,000 pekebun kecil di bawah

Pihak Berkuasa Kemajuan Pekebun Kecil Perusahaan Getah (Risda) akan menerima

bantuan khas RM500 seorang dalam masa terdekat.

Namun Pengerusi Risda Tan Sri Dr Abd Rahim Tamby Chik berkata bantuan ''one

off'' itu diberikan kepada pemilik yang memiliki kebun tidak melebihi 2.5 hektar.

"Risda akan meluluskan peruntukan sebanyak RM160 juta secara rasmi untuk

tujuan itu dalam mesyuarat Lembaga Pengarah Risda esok," katanya kepada

pemberita selepas majlis Himpunan Pergerakan Wanita Pekebun Kecil (PWPK)

peringkat kebangsaan di sini hari ini.

Abd Rahim berkata pengagihan bantuan khas itu akan dibuat secepat mungkin

secara serentak di seluruh negara dan Risda akan mewujudkan sebuah jawatankuasa

khas untuk tujuan pengagihan.

Katanya pemberian bantuan itu adalah bagi meringankan beban pekebun kecil

yang berdepan penurunan harga getah ketika ini iaitu sekitar RM7 sekilogram

berbanding RM17 sekilogram yang pernah dinikmati mereka satu ketika dahulu.

RISDA-BANTUAN 2 (AKHIR) PORT DICKSON

Beliau berkata dengan harga semasa getah, seorang pekebun kecil yang

memiliki kebun seluas 2.5 hektar hanya mampu menikmati pendapatan bulanan

sekitar RM700 berbanding RM1,280 ketika harganya stabil dan lebih tinggi.

"Melihat keadaan ini, maka kita membuat keputusan untuk memperuntukkan RM160

juta bagi bagi membantu mereka dan ini adalah pertama kali kita buat

sedemikian," katanya.

Terdahulu dalam ucapannya, Abd Rahim berkata Risda telah membuat penjenamaan

semula PWPK selaras dengan hasrat untuk menggerakkan golongan pekebun kecil

wanita agar lebih berdaya saing dan mampu berhadapan dengan persekitaran ekonomi

masa kini.

"Setakat ini Risda telah mewujudkan 838 buah PWPK yang dianggotai

lebih 14,425 orang di seluruh negara dan PWPK menjalankan aktiviti bagi

menambah sumber pendapatan keluarga dengan terlibat dalam keusahawanan seperti

ekonomi desa dan penternakan," katanya.

Beliau turut menyampaikan peruntukan berjumlah RM340,000

kepada 11 PWPK bagi tahun ini untuk menjalankan aktiviti masing-masing.
