Barisan-loyal states will reap greater benefits of development, says Najib - Bernama

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today said that the development of projects meant for people's well-being will become easy when the federal and state governments are operating under one umbrella.

He said the general public would also receive maximum benefits from the wise decision they made when choosing the government.

"This is what happened in Pahang. When the loyalty of the people remains with Barisan Nasional, it eases all kinds of work and cooperation between the state and federal governments to give the best service to the people."

Najib said this at the ground-breaking ceremony of the new Pahang State Administration Complex construction project at Kota Sultan Ahmad Shah (Kotasas) in Kuantan today.

The RM399 million project, which is being implemented on a 24.8-hectare site, is expected to be completed in three years.

The new complex is also expected to be the new icon of Pahang as the design was inspired from the state's logo and the fact that it adopted green technology in a bid to preserve the quality of its environment.

The complex comprises the State Legislative Assembly building, state government building and federal government building.

Najib, who had served as Pahang menteri besar in 1982, said it was high time for a new state-of-the-art state administration centre to be built to replace the 45-year-old Wisma Seri Pahang in order to give more efficient service to the people.

Meanwhile, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob said the new complex would have a positive impact on the productivity of civil servants in Pahang. - Bernama, September 7, 2013.
