KUALA LUMPUR, 19 Dis (Bernama) -- Banjir buruk yang melanda beberapa daerah

di Terengganu dan Pahang awal bulan ini membuktikan sekali lagi betapa tingginya

sikap prihatin rakyat negara ini terhadap mereka yang ditimpa musibah.

Baik orang biasa, pemimpin negara dan negeri mahupun kerabat diraja, mereka

bersama-sama menyingsing lengan baju dan kaki seluar, menyumbang kudrat membantu

mangsa banjir.

Tengku Puan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah umpamanya,

mencemar duli selama berhari-hari menyediakan hidangan untuk mangsa banjir di

pusat pemindahan di negeri itu, manakala Menteri Komunikasi dan Multimedia Datuk

Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek pula memastikan mangsa bah di kawasan parlimen Kemaman

yang diwakilinya menerima segala bantuan yang diperlukan.

Turut meredah banjir ialah Menteri Besar Terengganu Datuk Seri Ahmad Said

yang digelar 'Robin Hood' oleh warga media sosial gara-gara tindakannya menahan

lori membawa roti untuk diagih kepada pengguna jalan raya yang terkandas selepas

jalan ditutup.

Badan bukan kerajaan (NGO) tidak ketinggalan menggerakkan sukarelawan

masing-masing ke kawasan terjejas selain melancarkan kempen mengumpul sumbangan

orang ramai untuk diagih kepada mangsa banjir.

BANJIR-BANTUAN 2 KUALA LUMPUR

"Niat kami hanya untuk tolong mangsa dan Alhamdulillah usaha ini dimudahkan.

Bantuan yang diterima sangat banyak sehingga kami memerlukan banyak lori dan ada

yang bermurah hati membenarkan kami menggunakan lori mereka," kata Timbalan

Pengarah Nisa' Malaysia, Siti Asiah Ishak kepada Bernama.

Beliau berkata pergerakan itu menghantar bantuan makanan dan pakaian kepada

mangsa di sekitar Temerloh dan Bera pada 6 Dis lepas.

"Ada kawasan juga tidak boleh dimasuki sebab air naik dan kami bernasib baik

apabila ada rakan di Sungai Sedim, Kedah membantu dengan menghantar lima bot dan

11 kenderaan pacuan empat roda," katanya menambah lilin juga antara barangan

yang disumbang kepada mangsa banjir.

Menurutnya ada sukarelawan membenarkan kenderaan mereka diguna oleh Nisa'

Malaysia untuk melaksanakan misi itu.

Sukarelawan, Nurul Izza Abdul Malek, 30, pula berkata penat yang dirasainya

selepas bersengkang mata selama 24 jam menghantar bantuan di sekitar Temerloh

dan Bera, hilang begitu sahaja selepas menyaksikan kesukaran yang dialami oleh

mangsa.

BANJIR-BANTUAN 3 KUALA LUMPUR

Kata doktor pergigian itu tugas menghantar bantuan tersebut tidak mudah

dengan pelbagai halangan mereka hadapi antaranya jalan ditutup selain keadaan

hujan lebat yang tidak berhenti.

Ucapan terima kasih yang diterima daripada mangsa tidak seberapa bagi kami

jika dibanding dengan keadaan yang mereka alami, katanya.

Naib Presiden II Mercy Malaysia Norazam Ab Samah pula meluahkan rasa kagum

terhadap daya tahan yang dipamer mangsa banjir.

"Mereka tahu apa yang perlu dilakukan. Apabila kami datang, mereka beritahu

semua barangan penting seperti dokumen diletakkan di atas para supaya tidak

rosak, dan apabila perlu berpindah senang untuk dibawa bersama," katanya.

Mercy Malaysia turut menggerakkan empat klinik bergerak dengan lapan doktor

yang ditempatkan di Kemaman dan Kuantan.

BANJIR-BANTUAN 4 (AKHIR) KUALA LUMPUR

"Mercy Malaysia usahakan bantuan dihantar dalam masa 24 jam selepas bencana

berlaku. Stor sentiasa ada 'hygiene kits' mengandungi baldi, tuala, ubat gigi,

sabun dan sebagainya untuk diberi kepada mangsa," katanya.

Sementara itu, Ketua Pengarah Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia Datuk Wan Mohd

Nor Ibrahim berkata usaha menyelamat mangsa banjir merupakan usaha bersama

agensi terbabit yang sedaya-upaya melakukan yang terbaik.

"Mungkin ada kekurangan sedikit, namun dalam situasi bencana akan berlaku

beberapa perkara di luar jangka seperti jalan rosak yang menyebabkan bantuan

lewat tiba," katanya.

Ditanya mengenai penambahbaikan untuk persediaan masa depan, beliau berkata

pada pandangannya yang penting adalah meningkatkan koordinasi dan komunikasi

dengan semua pihak agar bantuan dapat disampaikan lebih segera.

Setiausaha Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN) Datuk Mohammed Thajudeen Abdul

Wahab pula menasihatkan orang ramai bersedia menghadapi banjir gelombang kedua

yang dijangka berlaku dalam tempoh 18 hingga 22 Dis ini.

"MKN merayu supaya orang ramai segera pindah pada peringkat awal banjir

berlaku, supaya apabila pasukan penyelamat tiba, mereka boleh melakukan

tugas-tugas yang lebih berat," katanya.
