DUNGUN, 25 Mei (Bernama) -- Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad hari ini menyumbang

RM20,000 kepada Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) cawangan Dungun untuk membantu

pelajar kurang kemampuan di universiti itu.

Sumbangan itu diserahkan oleh Pengarah Urusannya Datuk Seri Zukri Samat

kepada Rektor UiTM Dungun Profesor Madya Dr Abdol Samad Nawi di sini hari ini.

"Diharapkan pelajar yang bakal menerima sumbangan ini akan belajar

bersungguh-sungguh untuk mengubah nasib keluarga dan masa depan mereka melalui

ilmu yang diperolehi sepanjang pengajian," kata Zukri.

Bank Islam ditubuhkan pada 1983 sebagai Bank Islam yang pertama di

Malaysia dan kini mempunyai 129 cawangan serta lebih daripada 1,000 terminal

layan diri di seluruh negara.

Sementara itu, Kelab Kebajikan Bank Islam turut menganjurkan Karnival Sukan

kali ke-12 selama dua hari di UiTM Dungun yang berakhir hari ini yang disertai

800 orang warga kerja Bank Islam dari seluruh negara.

BIMB-SUMBANGAN 2 (AKHIR) DUNGUN

Zukri berkata penganjuran Karnival Sukan adalah untuk memupuk semangat

kesukanan di kalangan kakitangan Bank Islam serta untuk kesihatan dan kecergasan

diri.

"Karnival sukan seumpama ini juga memberi peluang dan ruang terbaik kepada

semua warga Bank Islam untuk berjumpa serta mengenali antara satu sama lain dan

seterusnya membina persefahaman dan semangat kerjasama berpasukan," katanya.

Sebanyak 20 acara sukan dipertandingkan pada karnival itu antaranya bola

sepak padang, badminton, bola jaring, bola tampar, tenis, sukan rakyat dan

‘treasure hunt

Karnival pada kali itu turut dimeriahkan dengan acara memasak dan membuat

teh tarik.
