KUALA LUMPUR, 7 Feb (Bernama) -- Skim Prihatin Pendidikan 1Malaysia (SPP1M)

yang diumum Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak semalam, disambut penuh

kelegaan oleh pelajar yang memerlukan bantuan kewangan sampingan untuk

melanjutkan pengajian, terutama ke luar negara.

Beberapa pemimpin pelajar yang dihubungi berkata mereka teruja dan

menganggap skim itu merupakan satu penyelesaian bijak serta usaha murni kerajaan

dalam mengurangkan bebanan kewangan dan kos sara hidup pelajar.

Mereka juga menyifatkan SPP1M pelaburan bernas, seiring hasrat kerajaan

untuk menambah bilangan rakyat Malaysia berkelulusan tinggi.

SPP1M yang dikendalikan Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputera (YPPB)

merupakan dana tambahan dengan jumlah pinjaman dihadkan RM150,000 untuk bidang

kepakaran perubatan dan RM100,000 bagi bidang khusus kritikal dan terpilih.

Pengerusi Majlis Perundingan Pelajar Kebangsaan Hafiz Ariffin berkata skim

itu akan membuka peluang pelajar yang sedang mencari bantuan kewangan sampingan

bagi meneruskan hasrat melanjutkan pengajian.

SPP1M-REAKSI 2 KUALA LUMPUR

Beliau berkata kemampuan memberi bantuan kewangan itu juga membuktikan

kerajaan kini berada di landasan pencapaian ekonomi yang baik dan cemerlang.

"Skim ini merupakan alternatif kepada pelajar yang menemui jalan buntu dari

segi bantuan kewangan untuk melanjutkan pengajian ke peringkat yang lebih

tinggi.

"Jadi tidak wajar jika ada pelajar yang menganggap ia sebagai tambahan

bebanan hutang," katanya kepada Bernama di sini, hari ini.

SPP1M bertindak sebagai pinjaman tambahan kepada dana atau pinjaman

Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional untuk pelajar yang hendak mengikuti

pengajian sepenuh masa di institusi pengajian tinggi tempatan dan luar negara.

Presiden Gabungan Pelajar Melayu Semenanjung (GPMS) Jais Abdul Karim pula

berterima kasih kepada kerajaan atas keprihatinan memberi bantuan kewangan itu.

SPP1M-REAKSI 3 (AKHIR) KUALA LUMPUR

Bagaimanapun, beliau berharap syarat kelayakan pinjaman itu akan

dipermudahkan bagi membolehkan pelajar miskin dan golongan pekerja sederhana

turut menikmatinya.

Seorang guru bahasa Inggeris, Nurul Tasnim Saari, 26, teruja dengan peluang

itu kerana sedang mencari sumber kewangan yang dapat menampung kos pengajian

beliau di luar negara.

"Saya tak kisah pinjaman atau biasiswa. Asalkan saya dapat cari bantuan

kewangan untuk melanjutkan pengajian saya di sana nanti," katanya yang berhasrat

menyambung pengajian peringkat sarjana dalam bidang pendidikan di Australia.

Manakala, seorang pelajar tahun akhir diploma perakaunan di politeknik Ipoh

berkata beliau akan memohon skim itu bagi menampung kos pengajian di peringkat

ijazah nanti.

Nurfatma Aqilah Arif berkata kos pengajian di peringkat diploma sekarang

ditanggung oleh bapanya kerana permohonan pinjaman ditolak.

"Diploma masih murah lagi, tapi bila ijazah akan tinggi, saya akan mohon

untuk kurangkan beban ayah," katanya.

Permohonan skim itu akan dibuka pada April ini bagi kemasukan ke institusi

pengajian tempatan, manakala bagi pengajian ke luar negara akan dibuka pada Jun.

Permohonan pinjaman boleh dibuat di Maybank dan RHB Bank.
