Its newly elected president Tan Sri William Mawan said the new line-up would

be announced once the relevant amendments to its constitution were approved by

the Registrar of Societies.

This follows the proposal to appoint three additional vice-presidents and

another six supreme council members during its triennial general assembly held

kind remarks and now the Ibans seem to make up the majority but we are willing

to compromise, give and take (to maintain the balance)," he said, adding that

all SDNU members should cast aside past problems and political affiliations.

One way to reach out to its Bidayuh and Orang Ulu counterparts at present

was through the Dayak Bidayuh National Union (DBNA) and Orang Ulu National

Association, he said.

Mawan, who was elected unopposed, succeeded Mengga Mikui as SDNU president

while Kapit Member of Parliament Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi also won unopposed

as deputy president.
