Footballers make more money a week than many of us do in a year. That’s probably why they drive whatever they want and do whatever they want. As such many believe that the rules don’t apply to them, hopefully this isn’t the case with Marlon King.

King, a striker for Birmingham City was arrested by the police for his involvement in a hit-and–run incident, which left the victim with a head injury. The arrest was made on the grounds that King was suspected to have failed to stop at the scene of the accident after the crash, which took place on early Saturday morning.

Police and ambulance response units rushed to the location of the accident following reports that a car had hit a pedestrian. The victim, a man in his late 40s was taken to a hospital in central London after the incident. The man is believed to not have sustained any life threatening injuries following the incident.

The footballer was arrested by City of London Police officers but has been released on police bail to a yet to be announced date in mid-September. Investigations are now underway to determine who was at fault and to confirm if King did really fail to stop after the collision.

According to a spokesman for Birmingham City, the club is aware of the incident. King, who previously played for clubs such as Watford and Middlesbrough, is reportedly available on a free transfer and is in talks with other clubs about a possible move. That’s all the information we have so far, but we will let you know as soon as we find out.
