Chris Hemsworth Is People's Sexiest Man Alive
A "sight for Thor eyes" indeed.
People magazine has named Chris Hemsworth 2014's Sexiest Man Alive. The big announcement was made during Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night, when the 31-year-old Aussie actor was interviewed via Skype and said he was "flattered" to receive the honor. After all, Hemsworth is in some pretty good-looking company: past winners of the coveted title include Adam Levine, Channing Tatum, Bradley Cooper, Matt Damon, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and two-time winners George Clooney and Brad Pitt. Still, Chris couldn't help but joke that, "This is based on an IQ test and not just physical appearance."
When Kimmel asked Hemsworth if there was anyone he'd like to thank, the hunk cracked, "My parents, I guess, for putting this together." As for his younger brother Liam's reaction to the news, Chris noted, "We've been throwing sexy looks back and forth all week. He's been a real team player through this one."
But while Chris may be the Sexiest Man Alive, in real life, he's just a dad who hopes to use his new title to get out of changing diapers.
"I think you've bought me a couple of weeks of bragging rights around the house," he told People in its special double issue cover story, which hits newsstands Friday. "I can just say to [wife Elsa Pataky], 'Now remember, this is what the people think, so I don't need to do the dishes anymore, I don't need to change nappies. I'm above that. I've made it now.'"

And though he's a big shot around Hollywood, Hemsworth would rather be home in Australia where he and Pataky, 38, live with their three kids, daughter India, 2, and 8-month-old twin sons, Sasha and Tristan.
"We just had a big beach day with the kids, swimming and kicking the ball around," he shared with the mag. "That was the first time in a long time we've done that. That's what it's all about."
And being sexy, of course! For example, did you know Chris prefers to sleep sans pajamas?
As for how he maintains his fit physique, the actor, who stars in Ron Howard's upcoming film In the Heart of the Sea, "puts on 20 lbs. of muscle" for his role as Thor, but when he's not wielding that hammer, tries to be disciplined when it comes to diet and exercise. But Hemsworth is human after all, so he does splurge on cheat days. "Then it's pizza, hamburgers, beer, sugary things," he laughed. "Everything I'm not allowed to have!"
Now that's sexy.
