Intel Malaysia is kick starting its PC Refresh campaign called ‘Generation Today’ as the company expresses that the Hourglass Syndrome may still be afflicting many Malaysian PC Users. This syndrome is characterised by abnormal behaviour exhibit by users of aging PC systems.

“Our data shows that over 300 million computers around the world are over four years old, and 65% of these older PCs are bulky desktops. In recent years, there has been many exciting developments in computing technology including the introduction of the Intel Core Processor Family – soon to be in its 4th Generation – and touch-enabled Ultrabooks. Old lagging PC should not hold us back from our fast paced lifestyles and it is time to upgrade to the latest technology available to us,” says Norhizam Kadir, National Sales Manager of Intel Malaysia.

Therefore, Intel Malaysia and its PC makers partners will run a series of roadshow across 14 cities in Malaysia. This campaign, which runs until the end of 2013, intends to introduce to consumers a wide selection of the latest touch-enabled Ultrabooks, comvertible tablets and laptops.

Intel will also offer a trade-in programme at the roadshows where consumers can redeem up to RM300 worth of cash rebates in exchange for old Intel-based PCs of any brand, upon the purchase of a new PC during the campaign duration.

The ‘Generation Today’ will run from 22 May until 31 December 2013. Participating OEM partners include Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo.
