Samsung unveiled the GALAXY S III mini (S III mini) recently, which is a compact version of the company’s flagship smartphone - the GALAXY S III. This device will be targeted to those who are looking for a more affordable version of the S III. According to Samsung, the S III mini will still offer the same performance, experience and nature-inspired design that its flagship smartphone has.

“The role of mobilephones has moved beyond functional usage to become an extension of oneself, as it serves as a platform of expression. The GALAXY S III had been built with an organic design concept packed with powerful and smart features that will fully meet the diverse needs of modern society. Following an overwhelming acceptance of the flagship product around the world, we are now delighted to implement its revolutionary design, intuitive usability and intelligence into the S III mini,” says Kwon Jae Hoon, Managing Director, Samsung.

The S III mini is powered with an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which ensures that users will get all the sweet offerings that Google offers. Also, it opens up Google Search’s new feature called Google Now, which brings people just the right information even before them seeking for it.

Aside from that, the S III mini has a 4in Super AMOLED display that offers vivid colours and clarity. Inside, it comes packed with a 1GHz dual-core processor that promises smooth performance.

Other features from Samsung that can be found on the S III mini include Direct Call, a feature that allows users to automatically dial a person’s number straight from message by lifting the phone to the ear. Making use of NFC technology, Samsung also included its own S Beam onto the compact GALAXY S III. This will allow people to share files by tapping on other S Beam-enabled devices.

The S III mini is now available in Marble White and Pebble Blue at RM 1,199 at all Samsung Brand Shops, authorised dealers and leading operators in Malaysia.
