BMW 316i launched in Malaysia

A new 'low' price entry on to the BMW-ownership ladder was launched today by BMW Group Malaysia: the locally-assembled all-new BMW 316i.

The new BMW 316i will feature BMW's TwinPower Turbo 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 135bhp and 220Nm of torque. It gets up to 100km/h from standing in 9.2 seconds and has a top speed of 210km/h. Like its other 3 Series siblings, it has BMW's award winning 8-speed automatic gearbox.

In line with BMW's EfficientDynamics green principles, it offers frugal fuel consumption of 16.9km/L while emitting 137g/km of C02 aided by BMW's Auto Start/Stop function.

As with other 3 Series in the range, Driving Experience Control with COMFORT, SPORT and ECO PRO modes is standard along with the inclusion of BMW ConnectedDrive and BMW iDrive, USB and Bluetooth connectivity.

Exterior colour options for the all new BMW 316i include Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Melbourne Red, Glacier Silver, and Mineral Grey. All cars are only available with Leather Dakota Black interior and upholstery.

BMW Group Malaysia promises the BMW 316i will be more luxurious, more efficient and offer more driving pleasure than any other car in its engine segment but then at RM209,800 (on the road, without insurance, with BMW Service + Repair Inclusive (BS+RI) they would, wouldn't they?
