KULIM, June 26 (Bernama) -- The Kulim/Bandar Baharu Barisan Nasional
Supporters Club (KPBNKBB) which was formed to regain the Parliamentary seat for
the constituency as well as its two State seats in the upcoming election has
forbidden its members from submitting themselves as candidates for any political
affiliation during the election.
Besides that, its members are also not allowed to contest for any post in
the party, be it at the branch or division level.
Its president Mokhtar Omar said the club members have taken an oath of
allegiance to support all Barisan Nasional activities in Kulim/Bandar Baharu in
its effort to regain the Parliamentary seats.
"We have voluntarily extended ourselves to sincerely help BN candidates to
win here in the upcoming elections," he told BN Kulim/Bandar Baharu Chairman
Datuk Abdul Aziz Sheikh Fadzir in a meeting here yesterday.
Thirty committee members of club along with several Umno committee members
for the division were present at the meeting which lasted for almost three

Mokhtar was the Umno head for the division before former Information
Minister Tan Sri Abdul kadir Sheikh Fadzir took over its administration 35 years
Mohktar said his committee had brought forward some suggestions to stregthen
BN''s stand in facing the elections and to attract more fence-sitters to side
Meanwhile, Abdul Aziz was impressed with the initiative taken by the club as
it was able to enrol nearly 3,000 members within only three months of its
