KUALA LUMPUR, 1 Dis (Bernama) -- Penularan budaya hedonisme yang menjadikan kesenangan dan kenikmatan sebagai tujuan hidup terutamanya di kalangan generasi muda hari ini sekiranya tidak ditangani boleh merapuhkan semangat jati diri dan pegangan agama, kata seorang penulis buku biografi.

Budaya ini, kata Datin Seri Fatini Yaacob, sekali gus membantutkan kesinambungan kepemimpinan negara berkualiti.

Beliau menyifatkan trend yang mementingkan keseronokan hidup sebagai membimbangkan kerana mereka yang mengamalkan budaya ini terlalu fleksibel terhadap semua perkara sehingga boleh melunturkan perasaan kasih kepada bangsa dan negara.

Fatini telahpun menghasilkan buku biografi beberapa tokoh negara termasuk Tun Daim Zainuddin (Daim Yang Diam) dan Naib Canselor Pertama Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Tan Sri Ainuddin Abdul Wahid (Ainuddin Pejuang ''Degil'' Melayu) serta buku riwayat hidup Natrah (Natrah Cinta. Rusuhan. Air Mata).

Fatini berkata apabila budaya hedonisme ini mula menjalar ke dalam masyarakat Melayu terutamanya golongan remaja melalui hiburan, sukan dan cara hidup, secara tidak langsung ia menghakis sifat malu dalam diri mereka.

"Masyarakat yang tidak malu ini membawa kepada gejala sosial yang serius, seperti melakukan maksiat di tempat awam. Ini secara tidak langsung akan menjatuhkan nilai sesebuah masyarakat," katanya kepada Bernama di Pusat Dagangan Dunia Putra (PWTC) di sini.

Beliau berkata kesan globalissasi dunia tanpa sempadan menjadi punca kepada ''cedukan'' budaya keterlaluan hedonisme sehingga ada yang menghalalkan cara hidup barat yang sekali gus bertentangan dengan resam negara ini.

Justeru elemen ''kesederhanaan'' perlu ada dalam diri setiap anak muda Melayu bagi menghalang hedonisme sebelum menjadi ''wabak''.

"Apabila pegangan agama golongan muda Melayu tidak ''teguh, mereka tidak akan dapat ''makanan jiwa'' dan inilah menyebabkan mereka mudah berpaut pada nilai hedonisme ini," jelas beliau.

Selain itu, beliau turut menegur gaya pembacaan golongan muda ketika ini yang cenderung kepada pemilihan bahan bacaan berbentuk santai berbanding penulisan ilmiah bermutu tinggi seperti sejarah dan biografi.

Katanya kualiti bahan bacaan juga penting dan perlu dititikberatkan sebagai pencambahan minda, pengetahuan selain dijadikan perisai daripada penjalaran budaya hedonisme.

"Biarpun budaya membaca sudah semakin meningkat, tetapi bahan bacaan juga perlu diambil perhatian. Ia akan meningkatkan semangat jati diri dan nilai kasih kepada bangsa dan negara, selain menjadi benteng daripada suntikan budaya hedonisme," katanya.

Beliau berkata ibu bapa juga perlu meluangkan lebih masa bersama anak-anak bukannya hanya berpaksikan kehidupan materialistik.
