Carama makes car maintenance a breeze
Castrol launches its new web and mobile portal to simplify car maintenance and help you find a trustworthy car mechanic.
Finding a reputable mechanic these days is as difficult as finding a needle in a haystack. Many have lost hope in finding one as a result of various encounters with dodgy mechanics that charge a premium for poor workmanship and quality of spare parts. Castrol has introduced a new web and mobile service called Carama that aims to end your car maintenance woes. It will be able to help users find a trustworthy mechanic and simplify the work involved with maintaining one's car.
Based on a recent survey conducted in the Klang Valley, there was a growing need for independent workshops to build a trusted relationship with car owners. It was also found that this could be achieved through transparency in pricing as well as quality of workmanship, skills and equipment.
Castrol managed to shortlist the number of workshops that it certified by providing an overall quality score to each through a 40-point rigorous screening process. The process was conducted by a panel of independent third party experts, which based their judging on quality, skills, transparency, customer service as well as compliance with health and safety.
Commenting on the new platform, Sumeet Wadhwa, General Manager of Castrol Inniventures (Strategic innovation arm of Castrol) said, “Car owners have a high level of concern and uncertainty regarding maintenance costs, price and quality of repair for their vehicles. Carama will streamline the selection process and provide car owners peace-of-mind and confidence that they have made the right decision in their choice of workshop.”
Carama’s portal offers a number features such as a repair shop locator, spare parts calculator, My Car and Carama Rewards. It also allows users to share their experiences of the Carama certified shops with other users.
The My Car feature provides owners with service reminders while Carama Rewards is a cash-back redemption programme that rewards users for their involvement, reviews and sharing of their experiences at Carama.
