Chrysanthemums mark respect for MH17 victims at Wisma MCA – Bernama

About 1,000 yellow and white chrysanthemums were distributed to the public during the minute's silence observed at the Wisma MCA premises today.

Head of the MCA Events and Public Relations Department Siow Yan Yong said the flowers were given out as a mark of respect for the victims of the Malaysia Airlines MH17 tragedy.

"We prepared a table covered with black cloth on which the public could place the flowers as a mark of their respect," she told Bernama today.

A Bernama survey found that MCA had also placed a big screen in front of its building to screen the live telecast of the ceremony on the day of national mourning.

A survey of the streets in KL also found that many motorists stopped their vehicles as a sign of respect. – Bernama, August 22, 2014.
