SEREMBAN, 19 Mac — Pengerusi DAP kebangsaan Karpal Singh memberi PAS amaran bahawa pihaknya akan menentang rakan komponen Pakatana Rakyat (PR) itu jika terus berkeras dengan larangan jualan loteri di Kelantan.

Dilihat sebagai kata dua kepada PAS, Karpal meminta parti Islam itu supaya “tidak bermain dengan undang-undang”, sebaliknya mahu ia menghormati hak bukan Islam di negeri tersebut.

“Apa jua tindakan yang bertentangan dengan undang-undang, kami akan bertindak bertentangan dengan (pendirian) PAS,” kata beliau pada majlis makan malam sambutan 45 tahun DAP di sini malam tadi.

Kerajaan PAS Kelantan berhadapan dengan kritikan parti-parti yang mewakili kaum Cina dari kedua-dua Pakatan Rakyat dan Barisan Nasional (BN) ekoran larangan menjual loteri.

Para pemerhati melihat larangan itu sebagai usaha PAS mengembalikan undi Melayu, yang kini kelihatan sudah kembali kepada BN dalam beberapa pilihan raya kecil sejak awal tahun lalu.

Kenyataan Karpal (gambar), yang juga ahli Parlimen dan seorang peguam, seolah-olah menggambarkan semula pendirian beliau dalam isu dasar negara Islam yang hendak dibawa PAS.

Bagaimanapun pada konvensyen kedua Pakatan Rakyat di Pulau Pinang 19 Disember lalu, Karpal berkata, isu itu boleh dibincangkan dan perlu diselesaikan dengan segera agar tidak dieksploitasikan oleh BN.

Kelmarin, Menteri Besar Kelantan Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat meminta Penasihat Undang-Undang negeri mengkaji semula pengharaman loteri ‘big sweep’.

Nik Aziz yang juga Mursyidul Am PAS berkata pendirian kerajaan negeri ialah tetap menjaga kesucian ajaran Islam dan mendokong keluhuran undang-undang selari dengan Perlembagaan Persekutuan.

“Adapun berbangkit isu larangan penjualan tiket-tiket loteri ‘big sweep’ yang dikatakan tidak memerlukan premis tetap untuk dijual, maka dalam isu ini, pihak kerajaan negeri sedia menelitinya dan menyerahkan kepada Penasihat Undang-Undang Negeri untuk melihat dari sudut perundangan,” katanya yang turut mengadakan pertemuan dengan Ketua Pemuda DAP Anthony Lok Siew Fook; ahli jawatankuasa DAP pusat Liew Chin Tong; Setiausaha Agung PAS Datuk Mustafa Ali dan Ketua Penerangan PKR Dr Mohd Nor Manuty bagi membincangkan isu judi tersebut.

Isu pengharaman loteri itu timbul berikutan Majlis Perbandaran Kota Baru - Bandar Raya Islam (MPKB-BRI) telah melakukan serbuan ke atas dua buah kedai buku dan merampas tiket loteri tersebut pada bulan lepas.
