DAP menyokong langkah Jawatankuasa Kira-Kira Wang Negara (PAC) untuk mengadakan sesi pendengaran dan keterangan secara langsung dan menyifatkan proses tersebut akan berjalan dengan lebih telus.

Setiausaha Publisiti DAP, Tony Pua (gambar), berkata pengumuman PAC pada Khamis lalu akan mempromosikan keterbukaan dan ketelusan dalam Parlimen Malaysia.

"DAP menyokong penuh keputusan PAC untuk mengadakan sesi pendengaran dan keterangan secara terbuka dan telus menerusi siaran secara langsung.

"Keputusan yang progresif ini akan membantu Malaysia untuk berada selari dengan demokrasi negara dunia pertama seperti Amerika, Jerman, Australia dan New Zealand dalam mempromosikan keterbukaan dan ketelusan di Parlimen," katanya dalam satu kenyataan media hari ini.

Bagaimanapun, katanya, beliau bimbang kemungkinan sesi pertama yang dijadualkan pada 14 November depan tidak boleh dijalankan secara langsung memandangkan Ketetapan Mesyuarat Parlimen dibawah Peraturan 85 belum lagi dipinda.

"Kami juga ingin menggesa Jawatankuasa Ketetapan Mesyuarat Parlimen mengadakan satu mesyuarat mengejut pada minggu depan mengenai isu ini.

"Jawatankuasa tersebut yang dipengerusikan Speaker Dewan patut membentangkan cadangan pindaan Ketetapan Mesyuarat dan usul bersama ke Dewan untuk diluluskan serta-merta," katanya.

Bekas Menteri Belia dan Sukan, Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery akan menjadi individu pertama yang akan memberi keterangan terhadap wujudnya kesamaran dalam pembayaran RM1.6 juta kepada artis K-Pop semasa Hari Belia Kebangsaan 2012 lalu.

Minggu lalu, pengerusi PAC, Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed dalam satu kenyataan media menyokong langkah untuk membuat siaran secara langsung sesi memberi keterangan dan menegaskan ia sudah diamalkan di negara Komanwel seperti United Kingdom dan Australia

"Sebenarnya, siaran langsung untuk prosiding PAC bukan satu perkara baru, kerana ia sudah diamalkan di negara Komanwel seperti United Kingdom dan Australia tetapi di Malaysia, ia perlu mendapat kebenaran Speaker Dewan Rakyat kerana ia membabitkan perubahan Peraturan Dewan," katanya.

Nur Jazlan mengakui bahawa PAC sebenarnya memainkan peranan penting untuk menjadi saluran utama rakyat meneliti kelemahan dan kepincangan dalam pentadbiran kerajaan serta Syarikat Berkaitan Kerajaan (GLC) untuk diperbaiki pada masa akan datang. - 28 Oktober 2013.
