DAP tells ROS not to delay approval for 120 new branches – Bernama

DAP sedia tandatangan kenyataan bersama MCA desak Ismail Sabri mohon maaf

DAP is calling on the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to speed up the approval for the party's applications made last year to set up 120 new branches.

The party's organising secretary, Anthony Loke Siew Fook (pic) said the call was made by a letter sent to ROS today.

"ROS' stand has been that there is a pending court case between DAP and ROS, so whatever decision to be made is put on hold until the case is settled," he said.

Considering that the case had been resolved yesterday, according to him, ROS no longer had any excuse to stall the approval for the party's 120 new branches.

Among the new branches are four each in Kedah and Kuala Lumpur, 29 each in Penang and Perak, 19 in Selangor, five in Negeri Sembilan and 15 in Johor.

In February this year, DAP applied for a judicial review in its effort to get ROS to recognise the re-election of the party's Central Executive Committee as it found ROS' decision on the matter to be unreasonable and against the law. – Bernama, September 24, 2014.
