HOLA!

So Brazilian sensation Neymar finally joined Barcelona, after months of speculation. Good for him and the club.

Barca fans must be really delighted to see the 21-year-old superstar gracing the Primera Liga - playing alongside the world's best in Lionel Messi - as the Catalans chase more honours.

Neymar, who costs a massive €57 million, ; was presented at the Nou Camp in front of 50,000 fans on Monday.

Like I said before, he should not have much problems fitting into the team with the attacking qualities he has.

He may just need some time though.

Neymar is poised to play upfront together with Messi and Alexis Sanchez or Pedro.

Despite the fanfare signing of Brazil international Neymar, many Barca fans are still worried about their problematic defence which conceded a whole lot of goals in all competitions last season.

The Barca defence struggled, especially when dealing with set pieces.

The Catalans, knowing fully well the situation, are targeting some quality defenders whom they feel can ease this problem at the back.

But still, they must act fast as these players may be snapped up by other big clubs in Europe.

Incidentally, one of those targeted is Neymar's Brazilian teammate in Chelsea's David Luiz.

In fact, in a latest development, Barca have prioritised Luiz's signing and have their man in South America, Andre Cury, working on the deal, according to Spanish reports.

It was Cury who facilitated the transfer of Neymar to the Nou Camp, and the report in the Spanish newspaper AS claims that the South American-based Barca representative has now started progressing the David Luiz deal.

Also on the shopping list are Valencia's Jeremy Mathieu, Porto's Eliaquim Mangala and Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels, but the priority is still Luiz.

Chelsea's new manager Jose Mourinho, however, could be the biggest stumbling block to Barca's hopes of signing David Luiz.

This is because of Mourinho's sour relationship with the Catalans while he was managing Real Madrid.

Barca must try hard to get the 26-year-old, who is also handy in playing the role of a defensive midfielder if the need arises.

The charismatic Luiz is a dead-ball specialist as well and can give Barca options in executing a freekick besides Messi and Xavi.

Also, he is 6ft 2in tall and this will be helpful in aerial tussles where Barca have lost out last season.

David Luiz, is in fine form now and will be a good buy to help ease the 'leaking' Barca defence.

Another new development.

Barca have reportedly decided on Marc-Andre ter Stegen as their replacement for Victor Valdes.

Valdes looks set to stay on at the Nou Camp for the final year of his contract and will leave in June 2014.

Linked with Valencia’s Vicente Guaita and Liverpool’s Pepe Reina, Barca have reportedly decided that Borussia Monchengladbach’s rising talent ter Stegen is their first choice.

It is reported that the club’s decision now is on what they decide is best for his development next season.

Barca are ready to purchase ter Stegen this summer, but are split on whether it is best to allow him to stay with his German club for another season on loan where he is guaranteed first team football, or to bring him to Barca to learn under Valdes for a year.

A good plan by Barca - especially for the future. ; ;

Anyway, if Barca manage to sign David Luiz, what will be Barca's first-11 look like?

Difficult to say at the moment.

May be it reads like this: Valdes, Alba, Pique, David Luiz, Alves, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Neymar, Messi and Pedro or Sanchez.

Adios!
