Don’t try this at home!

Alfa Romeo has just launched a Limited Edition Alfa MiTo, the Quadrifoglio Verde SBK and to mark the occasion, Alfa Romeo coordinated a thrilling, world first driving stunt.

The display of skilful driving and split second timing involved precision driver Paul Swift and British Superbike rider Chris Walker in which Chris on a Kawasaki ZX-10R Ninja British Superbike ‘undertakes' Paul in the Alfa MiTo SBK with the car up on two wheels.

Stunt driver Paul Swift, 33, accelerated his Alfa MiTo down the slippery Silverstone circuit before driving up one side of a ramp. This transferred the hot hatch on to two wheels with the highly skilled Swift managing to maintain control of his vehicle as he approached a corner of the famous racetrack. Superbike star Chris Walker, 40, then appeared on the back of his Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle and the two daredevils took the sweeping bend – known as Brooklands – together with Walker’s arm inches away from the four-foot high wheel of the Italian car.

For a brief moment the bike was beneath the MiTo’s chassis as Walker undertook Swift before accelerating through the bend. Throughout this dangerous manoeuvre, the Alfa driver was unaware of the biker’s position.

Swift successfully exited the bend before landing the Alfa safely back on two wheels.

The dramatic stunt was organised by Alfa Romeo to show off its limited edition MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde SBK. The Alfa MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde SBK Limited Edition combines Alfa's passion for style and elegance with the excitement and competitive edge of the FIM Superbike World Championship - for which Alfa Romeo is sponsor and safety car provider - to create a truly unique edition in the closest ever activation of the long-running partnership.
