Ducati Monster Diesel (No, it doesn’t run on diesel!)
A few months ago, Next Bike Sdn Bhd has pulled the sheets of the stunning Monster Diesel, a remarkable evolution of the Ducati Monster 1100EVO.
The Ducati Monster Diesel is the product of a dynamic partnership with the iconic fashion brand, Diesel, and is the ultimate blend of strength and Italian style; offering a brave combination of 'iconic naked motorcycle' and 'urban military chic'. Ducati's flagship Monster 1100 EVO provided the canvas for Renzo Rosso, founder of Diesel, and stylists from the Ducati Design Centre. With a military inspired theme; the 'Diesel Brave Green matte' livery is set against the black Ducati Trellis frame, wheels, engine covers, exhaust system and forks, presenting the Monster Diesel as an avant garde choice for connoisseurs of lifestyle motorcycling.
The Diesel label is proudly stitched into the leather upholstered seat and its unmistakable logo laser-engraved into the aluminium air intakes. Further personalization is made possible with a metal plaque attached to the re-shaped passenger seat.
Whilst the key technical specifications of the Monster Diesel remain in line with the Monster 1100EVO, it boasts Ducati's first 2-valve motor engine to hit the 100hp mark and rolls out with a new generation exhaust system, Marzocchi front suspension and comfort enhanced ergonomics. The Monster Diesel, which represents the lightest and most compact high performance bike in its category, has also been designed with high attention to user-friendly and safety-conscious detail.
Whilst the Monster Diesel has been long awaited by many in Malaysia, none have looked forward to its arrival more than Lob Muhammad Abdul Shukor, who has had a special surprise in store for is wife, Norcilla Omar.
The couple is well acquainted with the premium Italian brand and has been members of the local Ducati community for years. So when Lob Muhammad approached Datuk Wira SM Faisal and the Ducati Malaysia team with his plan to surprise Norcilla with her very own Monster Diesel, Ducati Malaysia found him the perfect opportunity to do so.
Deeply moved by Lob Muhammad's uniquely romantic gesture for his wife, Ducati Malaysia offered to have an exclusive event to hand over the keys of the Monster Diesel to Norcilla in a memorable gathering with their friends and fellow Ducatisti at the Press Room, Bangsar Shopping Centre.
Pleasantly surprised by her gift and the personalized way in which it was presented to her, Norcilla felt more than ever that she was a part of a close-knit family of friends who shared her passion for these magnificent machines.
Guests present at the hand-over of the Ducati Monster Diesel to Norcilla were also treated to an exclusive preview of the Ducati Diavel Cromo. The Monster Diesel is priced at RM118,888, whilst the Diavel Cromo will be priced at RM124,888.
