Seorang ketua ekonomis Bank Islam Azrul Azwar Ahmad Tajudin digantung tugasnya susulan pembentangannya berhubung senario pilihan raya umum (PRU) akan datang, di Singapura minggu lalu.

Pakar ekonomi berkenaan, Azrul Azwar Ahmad Tajudin mengesahkan tindakan bank itu menggantung tugasnya untuk tempoh yang tidak dinyatakan susulan pembentangannya pada 10 Januari lalu, mengenai PRU13 di Malaysia.

Azrul ketika dihubungi Malaysiakini berkata, beliau menerima surat penggantungan kerja itu petang semalam atas dakwaan "melakukan salah laku yang serius".

 

Azrul bagaimanapun berkata, beliau tidak mengetahui maksud dakwaan berkenaan namun mengesahkan ia berkaitan dengan pembentangannya di Singapura itu pada 10 Januari lalu.

 

"Tindakan ini adalah jelas berniat politik. Saya tak tahu nak kata macam mana (lagi). Saya terkejut dengan apa yang berlaku," katanya.

 

Azrul berkata, tindakan penggantungan berkuat serta-merta dan surat tersebut tidak menyebut tempoh penggantungan tersebut.

Dalam kertas pembentangannya yang bertajuk "Malaysia: Economic and Political Outlook 2013", Azrul menulis tiga kemungkinan senario yang berlaku dalam pilihan raya umum akan datang berdasarkan analisis faktor yang terpilih.

 

Senario terbaik di mana BN mempertahankan 112 hingga 122 kerusi parlimen berbanding Pakatan Rakyat yang memperolehi 100 hingga 110 kerusi dalam pilihan raya umum akan datang.

 

Manakala senario kedua "besar kemungkinan" BN kalah dengan mendapat 97 hingga 107 kerusi parlimen berbanding Pakatan yang menguasai 115 hingga 125 kerusi.

 

Sementara itu, katanya, senario ketiga "kurang kemungkinan", apabila BN gagal dan hanya mendapat 82 hingga 92 kerusi berbanding kejayaan besar Pakatan dengan mendapat 130 hingga 140 kerusi parlimen.

 

Azrul bagaimanapun menyalahkan media tertentu yang menurutnya hanya memetik satu senario berhubung kemenangan Pakatan tanpa menyebut dua lagi senario yang dikemukakannya.

Beliau kesal dengan laporan media berkenaan yang didakwanya cuba menggambarkan seolah-oleh beliau bersikap "berat sebelah".

"Kalau lapor ketiga-tiga kemungkinan senario ini, perkara ini (penggantungan tugas) tidak akan jadi," katanya yang kesal dengan laporan media berkenaan.

Ditanya lanjut, Azrul berkata beliau kini sedang menenangkan diri tetapi tidak menolak kemungkinan memikirkan untuk melepaskan jawatan "kerana tidak mahu orang lain menderita" susulan perbentangnnya itu.

 

"Saya tidak mahu orang lain menderita. (Saya fikir untuk buat ini) demi kepentingan bos saya," katanya sambil mendakwa ketuanya kini menerima tekanan daripada "pemimpin atasan BN".
