Footie mania reaches fever pitch

They came, they saw, they conquered.

Queens Park Rangers (QPR) football team travelled to three ASEAN destinations as part of their Asia tour, beginning first in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, followed by Kuala Lumpur and finally, Persebaya, Surabaya.


The team introduced new signing, former Red Devil - Park Ji Sung, and went on to comfortably beat Sabah Select and Kelantan FA in a 5-0 match, and Persebaya with a 2-1 final score.

As one of the primary sponsors of the QPR football team, AirAsia also took the opportunity to launch the tribute aircraft named after former team captain and assistant manager, the late legend, Alan McDonald. The special aircarft is emblazoned with the team's club colours and an outstanding blue and white striped tail, reminscent of the West London club's home jersey. Onboard the aircraft, fun facts about both QPR and Alan McDonald are available to passengers.



The Alan McDonald aircraft is the most recent addition to AirAsia's fleet of aircrafts featuring special liveries. Also part of the ensemble are the 100th Airbus featuring a special Dragon motif, the Caterham F1 aircraft, Asean Basketball League tributes, the Dato' Lat's livery and several others.
