KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 (Bernama) -- Four people were killed in road

accidents in Kuala Lumpur and in Bentong, Pahang, early today and last night,

police said.

At Km 2.82 of the Damansara-Puchong Highway here early today, a car went out

of control and hit a motorcycle travelling in the same direction before ramming

into a stalled lorry at 1am.

The impact killed the car driver and two passengers on the spot, Selangor

traffic police chief Supt Zulkifli Jonit told Bernama when contacted.

The victims were identified as the driver Sak Jia Kit, and passengers Tan

Jun De and Johson Sia Boon, all 20 years of age.

The motorcyclist and another passenger of the car were injured in the

incident, he said. The lorry driver was unhurt.

POLICE-ACCIDENT 2 (LAST) KUALA LUMPUR

In BENTONG, a 67-year-old man was killed when the car he was driving rammed

into a trailer at Km 42 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak highway last night.

Bentong OCPD Supt Rosli Abdul Rahman said Yusoff Abdul Rahman, 67, of

Dungun, Terengganu, was driving alone when he lost control of the car and rammed

into the trailer which was moving slowly on the left lane in the incident at

8pm.

The victim died on the spot.

In a separate incident in Kuala Lumpur, a policeman from Kuala Lumpur

traffic police injured his shoulder due to a fall after he was hit by a

motorcycle that was trying avoid a road block at Jalan Raja Laut.

Kuala Lumpur traffic police chief ACP Rusli Mohd Noor said police managed to

apprehend the motorcyclist in the 2am incident.

"Our man suffered minor injuries and received outpatient treatment at Kuala

Lumpur Hospital," said.

A total of 335 summonses were issued in the operations.
