#GE13* Tee Keat not among MCA candidates

KUALA LUMPUR (April 15): Former MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat is not among the MCA candidates for GE13,  a party source confirmed today.

This appears to be a "victory" for current party president Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek, who was strongly against Ong defending the Pandan parliamentary seat in Selangor.

Ong had appealed to BN chief Datuk Seri Najib Razak to be allowed to stand again in Pandan, but it appears that he has been unsuccessful.

PKR strategy director Rafizi Ramli will be the Pakatan Rakyat candidate in Pandan.

Meanwhile, the MCA source disclosed that party vice president Senator Gan Ping Sieu will also not be fielded in GE13.

Gan was earlier speculated to be named as the BN candidate for the Kluang parliamentary seat in Johor.

MCA is expected to officially announce the names of its candidates later today.
