BUKIT MERTAJAM, 26 Ogos (Bernama) -- Kerajaan Barisan Nasional (BN) sentiasa

prihatin terhadap isu berkaitan warga emas, ibu dan bapa tunggal, kanak-kanak,

golongan miskin dan kurang upaya serta yang menghadapi masalah sosial.

Seai Kie berkata golongan berkenaan pasti akan mendapat perhatian kerajaan pusat

di dalam belanjawan 2013 yang dijadual dibentangkan pada 28 Sept nanti.

"Ia (cadangan dalam belanjawan 2013) masih dalam proses untuk dimuktamadkan.

Perkara ini pasti akan mendapat perhatian sepenuhnya Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri

Najib Tun Razak yang amat prihatin dalam membela nasib rakyat khususnya golongan

yang memerlukannya," katanya.

Beliau berkata demikian kepada pemberita apabila ditanya insentif yang akan

diberikan oleh kerajaan pusat dalam belanjawan 2013 nanti, selepas menyerahkan

sumbangan kepada ibu tunggal, Lim Lee Kheng, 29, yang menanggung empat orang

anak berumur satu hingga lapan tahun selepas kematian suaminya pada Mei lepas.

Ibu tunggal itu akan menerima bantuan RM400 daripada Jabatan Kebajikan

Masyarakat (JKM), mesin jahit di bawah program Teman 1Azam serta geran berjumlah

RM2,700 untuk memulakan perniagaan jahitan bagi menjana pendapatan.

BN-PRIHATIN 2 (AKHIR) BUKIT MERTAJAM

Heng berkata kerajaan BN tidak pernah meminggirkan golongan yang memerlukan

bantuan malah amat prihatin tentang kebajikan rakyat khususnya yang miskin dan

kurang upaya.

Katanya kerajaan pusat telah mengagihkan sejumlah RM1.35 bilion pada tahun

lepas untuk pelbagai skim bantuan JKM, dengan agihan terbanyak untuk warga emas

dan diikuti kanak-kanak.

Heng berkata sebanyak RM315 juta telah diagihkan di bawah bantuan

kanak-kanak untuk tahun lepas yang memanfaatkan 98,848 orang seluruh negara,

dengan sejumlah RM16 juta diagihkan kepada 5,529 penerima di Pulau Pinang.

Katanya di bawah program Teman 1Azam yang bertujuan meningkatkan kualiti

hidup rakyat, kerajaan telah meluluskan 50,597 pakej dengan nilai maksimum

RM5,000 bagi setiap pakej.

Selain itu, katanya berkata kerajaan pusat turut meluluskan bantuan

berjumlah RM18.6 juta kepada 430 keluarga dengan kadar RM2,700 untuk setiap

keluarga untuk memulakan perniagaan secara kecil-kecilan.

Sementara itu, Heng berkata pusat jagaan perlu berdaftar dengan pihak

berkuasa yang ditetapkan demi keselamatan dan kepentingan penghuni.

Katanya kini terdapat sebanyak 818 pusat jagaan berdaftar dengan JKM di

seluruh negara dengan 66 buah daripadanya di Pulau Pinang.
