KUALA LUMPUR, 29 Mac (Bernama) -- Para audiens dan penggiat industri hiburan

tanah air sering bertanya sama ada industri filem Malaysia mampu menempuh

kejayaan di persada antarabangsa.

Industri filem tempatan yang telah menyaksikan banyak pencapaian sejak filem

Melayu pertama ''Laila Majnun'' diterbitkan 80 tahun yang lepas kini dikatakan

berada di ambang era kelahiran semula.

Pengarah Promosi dan Pemasaran Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Nasional (Finas)

Abd Khalid Maulod berkata, industri filem tempatan kini menyaksikan banyak

perkembangan yang memberangsangkan.

Bukan sahaja bilangan filem terbitan karyawan Malaysia terus meningkat

tetapi juga pengiktirafan bagi mereka, jelas beliau.

Sejumlah 73 buah filem ditayangkan di pawagam sepanjang tahun lepas

berbanding 49 filem pada 2011, 39 filem (2010) dan 27 filem (2009). Selain

daripada angka ini, pengiktirafan antarabangsa bagi mereka juga menunjukkan

peningkatan daripada segi kualiti.

BUNOHAN FILEM TERBAIK FFM 25

Sebagai contoh, ''Bunohan'', filem terbaik pada Festival Filem Malaysia ke-25

(FFM 25) awal bulan ini, berjaya meraih beberapa pengiktirafan antarabangsa

sehingga kini.

Pada Oktober 2012 filem berkenaan muncul sebagai satu-satunya filem Malaysia

daripada 71 buah filem antarabangsa yang tersenarai dalam Anugerah Academy ke-85

bagi kategori Filem Bahasa Asing.

''Bunohan'' juga pernah memenangi anugerah Golden Hanoman pada Festival Filem

Asia Jogjakarta (JAFF) di Indonesia dan Anugerah NETPAC (Rangkaian untuk Promosi

Pawagam Asia) pada Festival Filem Taipei Golden Horse 2011.

''Bunohan'' turut menyaksikan tayangan perdana semasa Festival Filem

Antarabangsa Toronto dan Taipei Golden Horse, dan dipilih oleh Universal

Pictures untuk diedarkan di beberapa negara termasuk United Kingdom, Perancis,

Jerman, Australia dan New Zealand.

Filem ''Bunohan'' dipertandingkan pada Festival Filem Asia Pasifik (FFAP)

ke-55 bersama empat filem lain iaitu Ombak Rindu, Songlap, Nur Kasih The Movie

dan Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa.

Bunohan dibintangi Faizal Hussein, yang memenangi anugerah Pelakon Lelaki

Terbaik pada FFM 25. Jalan ceritanya yang dilakarkan di sebuah bandar terpencil

berdekatan sempadan Malaysia-Thailand di Kelantan mengisahkan kasih sayang yang

hilang antara tiga adik-beradik lelaki.

HIKAYAT MERONG MAHAWANGSA

Sebelum ''Bunohan'', filem terbaik FFM 24 Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa yang

mengisahkan seorang nakhoda dan pahlawan dari keturunan Iskandar Zulkarnain

turut mendapat perhatian antarabangsa.

Dalam filem itu angkatan Rom, yang sedang membaikpulih kapal mereka di Goa,

India, meminta bantuan Merong Mahawangsa untuk mengiringi Putera Rom ke

Langkasuka untuk berkahwin dengan Puteri China dari dinasti Han. Misi berkenaan

penuh dengan liku dan ranjau.

Merong Mahawangsa ditayangkan di lebih 40 negara dan menerima ulasan yang

baik.

Begitu juga filem ''KL Gangster'' arahan Syamsul Yusof, menyaksikan kutipan

''box office'' RM12 juta dan mendapat pujian para penggemar filem Melayu Singapura

ketika ditayangkan sempena Malam Gala Seri Temasek II pada Februari lepas.

MENGANTARABANGSAKAN FILEM MALAYSIA

Pengerusi Finas, Datuk Md Afendi Hamdan dalam ucapan beliau pada malam gala

itu berkata satu daripada misi utama Finas adalah mengangkat keberkesanan serta

daya saing industri filem dan kandungan kreatif negara.

"Matlamat ini dapat memperkukuhkan lagi landasan bagi hala tuju industri

perfileman nasional ke arah lebih gemilang. Dengan kreativiti dan inovasi

menjadi ciri yang konsisten dalam penerbitan kandungan, hasil yang bermutu

tinggi akan menjadi kenyataan dan menyumbang kepada kecemerlangan industri

perfileman tempatan," tambah beliau.

Malam Gala Seri Temasek adalah satu daripada medan berkesan untuk Finas

membawa filem Malaysia ke arena antarabangsa.

"Satu lagi perkara yang ingin ditekankan di sini adalah sejajar dengan

konsep 1Malaysia, Finas juga mengambil berat pembangunan filem-filem Cina dan

India di Malaysia," jelas Md Afendi.

MALAYSIA DALAM ANUGERAH SERI TEMASEK

Md Afendi menyifatkan penganjuran malam gala yang sudah dua kali diadakan di

Singapura sememangnya berkait rapat dengan sejarah perkembangan industri

perfileman Melayu yang bermula di Studio Jalan Ampas di republik berkenaan.

"Di Studio Jalan Ampas lahirlah bakat seni lagenda negara seperti

Allahyarham Tan Sri P.Ramlee dan Nordin Ahmad. Ini seterusnya mencetuskan

kelahiran industri perfileman Malaysia," katanya.

Malam gala itu dianjurkan buat kali pertama pada 2011 di Singapura bagi

mengiktiraf penggiat seni dari Malaysia dan Singapura.

Sambutan menggalakkan pada penganjurannya yang pertama, mendorong

penganjuran Malam Gala Seri Temasek yang kedua pada bulan lepas dengan

melibatkan penggiat seni dari Indonesia bagi mengukuhkan industri seni Asia

Tenggara.

Pada Malam Gala Seri Temasek II bulan lepas pelakon lagenda kelahiran

Malaysia Allahyarham Nordin Ahmad diberi Anugerah Lagenda Dalam Kenangan Seri

Temasek.

Sementara empat penggiat seni Malaysia iaitu biduanita Datuk Sharifah Aini,

pelakon veteran Latifah Omar, tokoh muzik Datuk Dr Ahmad Nawab dan pelakon

veteran yang juga kakak ipar kepada Seniman Agung Tan Sri P.Ramlee iaitu Mariani

Ismail menerima Anugerah Gemilang Seri Temasek.
