Jackie Chan visits Malaysia again for "Police Story 2013"

13 Nov – Just last year, Jackie Chan was in Malaysia to promote "CZ12" and word was it that the Chinese martial arts star plans to retire from action movies. Now, a year later, Jackie is set to return to Malaysia to promote his action crime film, "Police Story 2013".

The 59-year-old star will be in Malaysia on 18 December to talk about the film with his fans. "Police Story 2013" is the sixth film in the "Police Story" film series, and the last instalment, "New Police Story", was released almost 10 years ago.

The film is a reboot of the "Police Story", tells the story of mainland detective named Zhong Wen, who has to use his wits to discover the truth about a cold case when patrons of a bar are taken hostages. However, Zhong Wen's task is made more difficult by the presence of his rebellious daughter Miao Miao. The film is written and directed by Ding Sheng, who previously directed Jackie in "Little Big Soldier".

For the film, Jackie has his hair cut short after retaining the same hairstyle for 30 years since his unfortunate accident on the set of "Armour Of God", which left him with a severe head injury and almost deaf for life.

"Police Story 2013" also stars Liu Ye, Huang Bo and Jing Tian. The film will be released in cinemas in Malaysia on 24 December and in Singapore on 19 December.
