GUA MUSANG, 30 Julai (Bernama) -- Jabatan Kemajuan Orang Asli (Jakoa)

membuka 171 ladang sawit dan getah di kawasan seluas 24,326 hektar di seluruh

negara membabitkan perbelanjaan RM518.360 juta, kata Ketua Pengarah Jakoa Datuk

Mohd Sani Mistam.

Beliau berkata ladang itu dibangunkan di kawasan penempatan Orang Asli yang

memberi faedah kepada 10,331 peserta Orang Asli, dan mereka setakat ini telah

menerima dividen hasil perladangan terbabit berjumlah RM54.946 juta dengan

purata pendapatan RM400 sebulan.

Justeru, beliau menafikan dakwaan badan bukan kerajaan (NGO) tertentu yang

menuduh Jakoa tidak memberi fokus kepada pembangunan kaum Orang Asli.

Beliau bercakap kepada pemberita selepas merasmikan majlis sambutan Ihya

Ramadan Bersama Masyarakat Orang Asli Kelantan di Rancangan Pengumpulan Semula

(RPS) Kuala Betis di sini hari ini.

Mohd Sani berkata NGO yang membuat tuduhan itu hanya untuk mempengaruhi kaum

Orang Asli tanpa merujuk fakta sebenar Jakoa dan kerajaan yang sekian lama

melaksanakan pembangunan kaum itu.

JAKOA-LADANG 2 (AKHIR) GUA MUSANG

"Sebagai contoh, sektor perladangan sawit dan getah ini yang diberi

keutamaan bagi memperolehi punca pendapatan untuk Orang Asli," katanya.

Projek perladangan getah dan sawit itu diserahkan pelaksanaannya kepada

agensi kerajaan termasuk Risda dan Felcra, yang hingga kini mampu memperkukuhkan

ekonomi masyarakat itu.

Beliau berkata walaupun kedudukan harga pasaran komoditi itu tidak menentu

sekarang, namun peserta tetap menerima dividen dengan kadar terbaik setiap

tahun.

"Kita juga akan membuka sebanyak 13 kawasan ladang baharu tahun ini dan

tahun depan membabitkan keluasan 2,154.44 hektar untuk faedah 1,775 peserta

dengan perbelanjaan RM53.861 juta," katanya.

Pembukaan ladang baharu itu membabitkan tujuh kawasan di Perak dengan

keluasan 1,274 hektar dan enam ladang di Pahang dengan keluasan 880.40 hektar.

Beliau berkata penduduk Orang Asli yang tidak terpilih sebagai peserta

ladang akan diberi peluang dalam pembangunan pertanian tanaman kontan termasuk

pisang dan nanas yang lebih memberi fokus kepada kaum itu di negeri Pahang,

Perak dan Kelantan.

"Kita membangunkan sebanyak 45 projek tanaman kontan di negeri terbabit bagi

memberi pendapatan kepada 908 peserta Orang Asli dengan membabitkan Pahang (10

projek), Perak (14) dan Kelantan (21 projek)," katanya.

Pada majlis itu, beliau turut menyampaikan sumbangan kepada saudara baru,

anak yatim dan ibu tunggal.
