Pencapaian keseluruhan calon Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) pada tahun ini adalah yang terbaik dalam tempoh empat tahun, kata Ketua Pengarah Pendidikan, Tan Sri Abd Ghafar Mahmud hari ini.

Beliau berkata, seramai 466,167 calon menduduki UPSR pada tahun ini dan pencapaian keseluruhan meningkat sebanyak 0.04 mata Gred Purata Nasional (GPN).

"Ini merupakan keputusan UPSR terbaik dalam tempoh empat tahun iaitu sejak  2010 dengan GNP  meningkat daripada 2.31 mata pada 2010 kepada 2.30 mata (2011), 2.31 mata (2012) dan 2.27 mata pada tahun ini. (Nilai GPN yang lebih kecil menunjukkan pencapaian lebih baik).

"Ini satu pencapaian yang membanggakan. Saya mengucapkan tahniah kepada semua guru dan pelajar yang menunjukkan prestasi yang baik pada tahun ini," katanya ketika mengumumkan analisis keputusan UPSR di Kuala Lumpur, hari ini.

Abd Ghafar berkata, seramai 42,646 calon UPSR tahun ini berjaya memperoleh semua A dalam semua mata pelajaran, peningkatan sebanyak 0.21 peratus berbanding tahun lalu.

Beliau berkata, prestasi mata pelajaran Bahasa Melayu (BM) di Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) meningkat iaitu sebanyak 0.17 mata Gred Purata Mata Pelajaran (GPMP) bagi BM Pemahaman dan 0.03 mata GPMP bagi BM Penulisan berbanding tahun lalu.

Selain itu, katanya, mata pelajaran BM di Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJK) turut menunjukkan peningkatan iaitu sebanyak 0.14 mata GPMP (BM Pemahaman) dan 0.19 mata GPMP (BM Penulisan) berbanding tahun lalu.

"Prestasi yang baik dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Melayu menyumbang kepada pencapaian keseluruhan UPSR yang baik pada tahun ini," katanya.

Bagi Bahasa Inggeris (BI) di SK, Abd Ghafar berkata, prestasi keseluruhan menurun sebanyak 0.06 mata GPMP berbanding tahun lalu, dengan peratusan calon mendapat Gred A menurun sebanyak 0.2 peratus, Gred ABC menurun sebanyak 2.9 peratus manakala Gred D dan Gred E pula meningkat sebanyak 3.0 peratus berbanding tahun lalu.

Di SJK, katanya, prestasi keseluruhan BI meningkat sebanyak 0.12 mata GPMP dan peratusan calon mendapat Gred A dan Gred A,B dan C turut meningkat sebanyak 4.2 peratus dan 2.1 peratus,  Gred D meningkat 1.0 peratus dan peratusan calon memperoleh Gred E menurun sebanyak 3.0 peratus berbanding tahun lalu.

Bagi mata pelajaran Matematik, Abd Ghafar berkata, ia menurun sebanyak 0.03 mata GPMP berbanding tahun lalu dan peratusan calon mendapat Gred A dan Gred A,B dan C masing-masing menurun sebanyak 1.2 peratus dan 0.08 peratus, Gred D menurun 0.2 peratus dan Gred E meningkat 1.0 peratus.

Bagi Sains, beliau berkata, ia menurun sebanyak 0.02 mata GPMP  berbanding tahun lalu dan peratusan calon yang mendapat Gred A kekal pada 22.6 peratus seperti tahun lalu.

"Peratusan calon mendapat Gred ABC menurun sebanyak 0.2 peratus, Gred D menurun 0.7 peratus dan Gred meningkat 0.9 peratus,” katanya.

Sementara itu, katanya, mata pelajaran Bahasa Cina (Pemahaman) menurun 0.04 mata GPMP dan peratusan calon mendapat Gred A turun sebanyak 3.0 peratus dan Gred A,B dan C juga menurun sebanyak 0.1 peratus, Gred D meningkat 0.2 peratus dan Gred E menurun 0. 1 peratus berbanding tahun lalu.

Bagi Bahasa Cina (Penulisan), katanya, ia turut menurun sebanyak 0.02 mata GPMP, dengan calon yang mendapat Gred A dan Gred A,B dan C masing-masing menurun 0.1 peratus dan 0.5 peratus manakala Gred D menurun sebanyak 0.3 peratus dan Gred E meningkat 0.9 peratus.

Abd Ghafar berkata, Bahasa Tamil (Pemahaman), mencatatkan peningkatan sebanyak 0.21 mata GPMP berbanding 2012 dan peratusan calon mendapat Gred A dan Gred A,B dan C masing-masing meningkat 7.2 peratus dan 5.4 peratus manakala Gred D dan Gred E menurun sebanyak 5.4 peratus.

"Prestasi keseluruhan Bahasa Tamil (Penulisan) menurun  0.06 mata. Peratusan calon mendapat Gred A dan Gred ABC masing-masing menurun 3.9 peratus dan 0.5 peratus. Peratusan calon mendapat Gred D menurun 0.1 peratus dan Gred E meningkat sebanyak 0.6 peratus," katanya.

Sementara itu, Abd Ghafar berkata, pencapaian calon secara keseluruhan di bandar dan luar bandar pada tahun ini menunjukkan peningkatan prestasi yang sama dengan perbezaan gred purata sebanyak 0.04 mata.

Beliau berkata, seramai 25,685 calon UPSR bandar mendapat semua A dalam semua mata pelajaran manakala 16,960 calon di luar bandar.

"Peratusan calon yang mendapat pencapaian Cemerlang (semua gred A dalam semua mata pelajaran) di bandar meningkat sebanyak 0.20 peratus dan di luar bandar meningkat sebanyak 0.27 peratus berbanding tahun lalu.

"Ini menunjukkan jurang pencapaian cemerlang antara calon di bandar dan di luar bandar semakin mengecil iaitu sebanyak 0.07 peratus," katanya.

Bagi pencapaian calon berkeperluan khas tahun ini, Abd Ghafar berkata, calon mendapat keputusan Cemerlang menurun sebanyak 0.08 peratus, iaitu 12 orang berbanding 25 calon pada tahun lalu.

"12 calon yang mendapat pencapaian Cemerlang terdiri daripada tiga calon rabun, dua calon spastik dan tujuh calon lain-lain kecacatan," katanya. - Bernama, 14 November, 2013.
