PUTRAJAYA, 10 Jan (Bernama) -– Kerajaan negeri Selangor tidak boleh

mengambil alih pengurusan Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) kerana

ia bercanggah dengan syarat-syarat dalam perjanjian konsesi, kata Menteri

Tenaga, Teknologi Hijau dan Air Datuk Seri Peter Chin Fah Kui.

Beliau berkata syarikat konsesi bekalan air itu dilantik mengurus dan

mentadbir air di Selangor pada tahun 2004, dan sebarang penamatan kontrak boleh

menyebabkan kerajaan negeri Selangor disaman.

Chin berkata kerajaan negeri Selangor pimpinan PKR yang bertegas mahu

mengambil alih syarikat konsesi air itu harus mengadakan rundingan dengan Syabas

dan urusan pengambilalihan hanya boleh dilaksana jika Syabas bersetuju.

"Saya ingin memberitahu Menteri Besar Selangor Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim

bahawa kerajaan persekutuan tidak pernah menghalang kerajaan negeri untuk

mengambil alih syarikat konsesi air itu kerana kerajaan persekutuan tidak

mempunyai sebarang ekuiti dalam syarikat Syabas kecuali golden share untuk

membuat pemantauan," katanya pada sidang akhbar di sini hari ini.

Beliau berkata demikian apabila diminta mengulas kenyataan Khalid yang

mencadangkan untuk menamatkan perjanjian konsesi dengan Syabas dan seterusnya

mengambil alih operasi syarikat Syabas berikutan krisis air di 90 kawasan

sehingga menjejaskan hampir setengah juta pengguna.

CHIN-AIR 2 (AKHIR) PUTRAJAYA

Gangguan bekalan air di beberapa kawasan di Lembah Klang berlaku berikutan

pengurangan kadar pengepaman air dari Rumah Pam Wangsa Maju sebanyak 30 juta

liter sehari (JLH) untuk mengelak kerosakan berulang akibat lebihan bebanan.

Sehubungan itu, Chin mahu kerajaan Selangor berhenti menuding jari dan

menyalahkan Syabas dalam isu krisis air.

"Ini bukan isu ambil alih tetapi semua pihak iaitu kerajaan negeri, Syabas

dan kerajaan persekutuan harus duduk berbincang dan mencari jalan penyelesaian

agar ia (krisis air) tidak berulang pada masa akan datang kerana air adalah

keperluan rakyat.

"Kerajaan persekutuan sentiasa bersedia untuk membantu dalam pelbagai bentuk

dan merancang keperluan air pada masa depan," katanya.

Sementara itu, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara

(SPAN) Datuk Teo Yen Hua memberi jaminan masalah gangguan air boleh diatasi

selewat-lewatnya Isnin depan.

Beliau berkata pihaknya bersetuju dengan cadangan Syabas untuk memasang paip

pintasan bagi membolehkan air dibekal secara graviti dari Kolam Air Dusun Kubong

ke Kolam Sedut AU3 Baru dan AU3 Lama.

"Kerja-kerja pemasangan paip pintasan mulai dilaksana malam kelmarin dan

dijangka siap dalam tempoh lima hari. Apabila siap, bekalan air akan dibekalkan

ke kedua-dua kolam sedut itu tanpa melalui Rumah Pam Wangsa Maju," katanya.
