Persekutuan Kristian Malaysia (PKM) hari ini mempersoalkan kebisuan Putrajaya ke atas penyelesaian 10-perkara antara mereka dengan kerajaan dalam situasi negara yang semakin tertekan dengan isu agama.

Pengerusi PKM, Dr Eu Hong Seng mengatakan bahawa empat kejadian terbaru terhadap pengarang akhbar mingguan Katolik, Herald, Paderi Lawrence Andrew, membuktikan perkara ini.

Sekumpulan Muslim baru-baru ini membakar patung paderi katolik itu dan mengugut untuk mengadakan demonstrasi besar-besaran terhadap Andrew.

Kejadian yang lain termasuk:

- Sebuah iklan yang dikeluarkan di akhbar harian The Star, Sabtu lalu oleh Majlis Agama Islam Selangor (Mais) yang menjelaskan serbuan ke atas Persatuan Bible Malaysia (PBM);

- Demonstrasi berdekatan Gereja Shekinah Glory AG di Klang pada 4 Januari, dan

- Demonstrasi di luar Gereja Metro Tabernacle di Gombak, Ahad lalu.

Eu berkata penyelesaian 10-perkara itu diumumkan oleh Putrajaya pada April 2011 dan sepatutnya dapat menyelesaikan masalah penggunaan kalimah 'Allah' dalam bible Bahasa Malaysia.

"Yang sedihnya, kerajaan mengumumkan 10-perkara tersebut tetapi kini hanya membisu mengenainya.

"Dengan tiadanya hala tuju yang jelas daripada ketua politik negara ini, kita sedang menyaksikan perebutan dari beberapa kumpulan yang mahukan perhatian daripada media," katanya, menambah bahawa ini menunjukkan kelemahan pengurusan dalam negara ini.

PKM bertegas untuk menyokong Andrew dan gerejanya yang digeledah tanpa waran.

"Kita juga berdiri bersama-sama ramai penganut Kristian di negara ini yang kesalahan mereka hanyalah kerana ingin menyembah tuhan dalam bahasa mereka sendiri.

"Kita harus menitik beratkan bahawa 64% daripada penganut Kristian di sini tidak menggunakan bahasa lain dalam Bible dan penyembahan mereka dalam Bahasa Malaysia," tambahnya.

Eu menambah bahawa masyarakat Kristian kecewa dengan kejadian-kejadian tersebut termasuk kejadian yang bakal datang.

Dia juga mengajak semua untuk mendoakan keharmonian dan keselamatan individu Kristian, gereja dan orang ramai.

Pada Oktober lalu, tiga hakim Mahkamah Rayuan meluluskan rayuan Putrajaya untuk menolak keputusan Mahkamah Tinggi yang membenarkan Herald menggunakan kalimah 'Allah' kerana ianya tidak memainkan peranan penting dalam agama Kristian dan amalannya.

Mahkamah berkata bahawa Menteri Dalam Negeri bertindak dalam undang-undang demi keselamatan negara serta ketenteraman awam apabila beliau melarang beberapa perkataan, termasuk 'Allah' oleh yang bukan Muslim.

Katanya, penggunaan tersebut, jika dibenarkan, hanya akan mengundang kekeliruan di kalangan rakyat Malaysia dan beliau menambah bahawa kebajikan individu atau kumpulan harus berdasarkan pihak majoriti.

Andrew juga telah disiasat di bawah Akta Hasutan selepas menyatakan di The Malaysian Insider bahawa gereja di Selangor akan terus menggunakan kalimah 'Allah' dalam ceramah Bahasa Malaysia mereka.

Andrew telah memetik Artikel 11 dari Perlembagaan Persekutuan yang memastikan kebebasan untuk setiap agama untuk mengamalkan agama masing-masing.

Walau bagaimanapun, kumpulan Muslim, termasuk Umno meminta beliau menarik balik kenyataan itu.

Kenyataan Andrew adalah respon daripada pengumuman Jais bahawa mereka akan menulis surat kepada semua gereja Selangor untuk memberitahu mereka tentang larangan menggunakan kalimah 'Allah' dalam ceramah dan akhbar mereka. – The Malaysian Insider, 15 Januari, 2014.
