Kiki, woman in road rage clip, out on police bail

Kiki ‘si pengunci stereng’ akan dituduh di mahkamah pada Isnin

The young woman who earned notoriety after a video of her threatening an elderly man with a steering lock went viral, has been released on police bail, The Star reported today.

Kuantan police chief ACP Abdul Aziz Salleh said the woman, Siti Fairrah Ashykin Kamaruddin, also known as Kiki, was released late Thursday night.

He said investigations into the road bullying case was still ongoing.

“Once we have completed the probe, we will submit the case to the Attorney-General’s Chambers, which will decide on the charges,” he was quoted as saying.

Siti Fairrah, 30, was seen in the video screaming at Sim Siak Heong, 68, after his car bumped into her brand-new Peugeot 208 on Monday.

The 2½-minute video of the incident showed Kiki brandishing a car steering and hammering Sim's car, demanding him to pay RM2,000 for the damage.

The clip set off a series of parodies and remarks, with Malaysians condemning the woman for her rude behaviour.

Later in an interview, Kiki admitted her mistake, and pleaded with the public to stop hurling verbal abuses at her.

"I admit this is my biggest mistake and I know it is hard but I hope Malaysians can forgive me.

"That video has ruined my life," she told private television channel NTV7.

Sim had meanwhile refused to press charges against her.

"I pity the woman if she goes to jail for the incident, as I do not gain anything from this," he said, preferring to forgive and forget. – July 19, 2014.
