PUTRAJAYA, 25 Sept (Bernama) -- Pendapatan pengusaha rumpai laut di negara

ini dijangka meningkat kira-kira 50 peratus pada masa akan datang apabila

penggunaannya diperluas menerusi penghasilan kosmetik.

Ketua Pengarah Perikanan Datuk Ahamad Sabki Mahmood berkata mereka yang kini

memperolehi sekitar RM2,200 sebulan dijangka meraih sehingga RM3,600 menjelang

2020 melalui penjualan rumpai laut dan produk berasaskan bahan itu termasuk

kosmetik.

"Ini antara usaha kita pastikan bahan mentah daripada hasil rumpai laut

dijadikan produk-produk untuk kita komersilkan supaya industri ini lebih berdaya

saing," katanya kepada pemberita selepas merasmikan majlis pengkomersilan dan

padanan perniagaan produk kosmetik OCEANbioactive yang berasaskan rumpai laut,

di sini hari ini.

Pada tahun lepas, Malaysia mengeluarkan kira-kira 23,000 tan metrik rumpai

laut kering bernilai RM35 juta.

Perusahaan itu kini menjadi sumber pendapatan kepada lebih 1,000 nelayan

yang mengusahakan kira-kira 7,000 hektar kawasan pengkulturan rumpai laut di

perairan pantai timur Sabah.

RUMPAI LAUT-KOSMETIK 2 (AKHIR) PUTRAJAYA

Mengenai kosmetik rumpai laut, Ahamad Sabki berkata menerusi penyelidikan

bersama Jabatan Perukanan dan Sirim Berhad, sebanyak 12 produk dihasilkan

meliputi rangkaian penjagaan kulit ''Ocean Beau'', rangkaian produk penjagaan

kulit muka lelaki ''Ocean Guy'', produk penjagaan diri ''Ocean Bloom'' dan ubat

gigi ''Ocean Fresh''.

Beliau berkata pada majlis itu, 22 usahawan syarikat swasta dijemput

untuk memberi peluang kepada mereka memasarkan produk berkenaan dengan jenama

sendiri.

Katanya harga jualan produk di pasaran turut bergantung kepada syarikat

berdasarkan segmen pasaran masing-masing dan dijangka berada di pasaran sebulan

dari sekarang.

Sementara itu, Presiden dan Ketua Eksekutif Sirim Berhad Dr Zainal Abidin

Mohd Yusof berkata hasil penyelidikan mendapati ekstrak rumpai laut boleh

bertindak sebagai agen pencerahan kulit semula jadi dan membantu meningkatkan

kelembapan kulit serta memperbaiki struktur kulit.

Kesemua produk telah menjalani beberapa peringkat penyelidikan dan

pengujian untuk memastikan produk terbabit berkualiti, selamat dan berkesan,

katanya dalam teks ucapan yang dibacakan Naib Presiden Bahagian Reka Bentuk dan

Kejuruteraan Dr Mohd Jamil Sulaiman.

Katanya pengeluaran produk akan dibuat di loji perintis kosmetik Sirim

Berhad yang bertaraf Amalan Pengilangan Terbaik (GMP) dan mendapat pensijilan

halal daripada Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (Jakim).

"Mereka juga akan diberikan bimbingan oleh Sirim dalam mendapatkan kelulusan

daripada Biro Pengawalan Farmaseutikal Kebangsaan serta pensijilan halal

daripada Jakim serta dibantu dari segi reka bentuk pembungkusan dan pelabelan

produk," katanya.
