KUALA TERENGGANU, 20 Dis (Bernama) -- Koperasi Penternak Terengganu Berhad

(Koternak) dijangka melabur RM600,000 dalam bidang ternakan lembu feedlot awal

tahun depan.

Pengerusinya, Ma''az Muda berkata pelaburan itu bertujuan membeli lembu untuk

diternak secara feedlot bagi menambah pendapatan ahli Koternak pada masa akan

datang.

"Ini merupakan satu projek baharu yang akan dilaksanakan oleh Koternak

selain projek perniagaan makanan ternakan lembu yang dijalankan sebelum ini,"

katanya kepada Bernama.

Untuk itu, Ma''az berkata Jabatan Perkhidmatan Veterinar (JPV) negeri

Terengganu telah menyediakan satu kandang ternakan feedlot di Tersat, Hulu

Terengganu untuk Koternak.

Koternak akan sewa kandang tersebut yang turut disediakan pelbagai

kemudahan termasuk ladang rumput untuk makanan lembu, katanya, sambil menyatakan

kandang itu mampu menempatkan sehingga 300 ekor lembu setiap pusingan dan

Koternak akan menternak tiga pusingan setahun.

Koternak merancang membeli lembu-lembu dari beberapa negeri di luar

Terengganu untuk digemukkan dalam kadang tersebut sebelum dijual.

Sebagai langkah pertama, pada Febuari atau Mac tahun depan, katanya Koternak

akan membeli 300 ekor lembu untuk dipelihara dalam kadang berkenaan.

Koternak juga membuka peluang kepada anggota-anggotanya untuk turut

sama melabur dalam projek tersebut supaya mereka sama-sama dapat menikmati

faedah, katanya.

Beliau berkata ahli boleh melabur antara RM150 sehingga RM2,000 untuk

membolehkan Koternak memulakan perniagaan menjual input bahan-bahan makanan

tambahan lembu, yang kini mempunyai nilai perniagaan hampir RM100,000.

Ma''az berkata Koternak telah diwujudkan kira-kira 18 tahun lalu dengan

keanggotaan 300 ahli yang terdiri daripada para penternak di Terengganu.

Selain itu, katanya Koternak juga merancang membina bangunan sendiri pada

masa akan datang kerana mereka tidak mahu menyewa premis selama-lamanya.

Pejabat Koternak sekarang ini terletak di Wakaf Jela, Jalan Kuala Berang,

sejak 18 tahun lalu.
