KUALA LUMPUR, 8 Mei — Utusan Malaysia dan kumpulan-kumpulan Islam mencetuskan perpecahan antara agama sedangkan pihak berkenaan seharusnya membawa laporan mengenai isu Kristian Malaysia kepada jawatankuasa antara agama Kabinet.

Pengerusi Majlis Perundingan Malaysia Agama Buddha, Kristian, Hindu, Sikh dan Tao, Dr Thomas Philips berkata terdapat satu jawatankuasa khas yang ditubuhkan untuk mengkaji perkara-perkara yang “sensitif”.

“Kita mempunyai jawatankuasa antara agama Kabinet. Mereka perlu bincangkan perkara ini di sana. Ada isu-isu yang tidak dapat dikawal. Mengapa perlu bangkitkan isu yang boleh mempengaruhi emosi rakyat?” katanya kepada The Malaysian Insider, merujuk kepada dakwaan yang disiarkan dalam beberapa blog pro-Umno dan Utusan Malaysia sejak beberapa hari lalu.

Beberapa pertubuhan bukan kerajaan (NGO) Islam telah membuat laporan polis selepas akhbar milik Umno menyiarkan laporan di muka hadapan dengan tajuk “Kristian agama rasmi?”

Philips berkata jawatankuasa khas itu dijadualkan mengadakan pertemuan minggu depan tetapi mesyuarat telah ditangguhkan.

Jawatankuasa khas itu diletakkan di bawah Jawatankuasa Mempromosikan Persefahaman dan Keharmonian Antara Agama yang diwujudkan pada Disember 2009.

Anggota jawatankuasa khas itu adalah Datuk Mustapha Ma dan Reverend Hermen Shastri, dan pertemuan terakhir pada 17 Mac lalu, meskipun sumber The Malaysian Insider memberitahu bahawa tiada perkembangan terbaru dalam isu-isu yang dibangkitkan.

Kata Philips, majlis perunding bukan Islam mempunyai pendirian bahawa tiada agama lain yang boleh merampas kedudukan agama Islam sebagai agama rasmi negara.

“Kami telah jelaskan pendirian kami bahawa tiada sesiapa yang mengancam Islam. Tiada sesiapa yang boleh merampas kedudukan agama Islam sebagai agama rasmi kerana ia termaktub dalam Perlembagaan Persekutuan.

“Kami mahu tegakkan Perlembagaan Persekutuan dan kami tidak akan lakukan sesuatu dan kami menerima kedudukan Islam,” katanya.

Katanya, jawatankuasa khas itu dijadual bertemu menteri yang turut berada dalam jawatankuasa itu, Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom dan Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon minggu depan untuk berbincang mengenai kekosongan jawatan pengerusi selepas Datuk Ilani Ishak meninggal dunia pada 24 Februari lalu.

“Tapi mesyuarat pada 12 Mei ini ditunda,” katanya sambil menambah tiada tarikh baru diberikan.

“Jika ia berlaku, ia berlaku. Apa yang kami boleh buat?” katanya.

Isu-isu agama ini mula tercetus pada pilihan raya negeri Sarawak 16 April lalu, malah kumpulan-kumpulan Melayu menyifatkan peningkatan sokongan Cina kepada DAP dan menuduh penganut Kristian cuba menggugat agama Islam.

Pertubuhan-pertubuhan Pembela Islam (Pembela) juga telah membuat laporan polis dengan menuduh Kristian cuba untuk memurtadkan orang Islam, yang mana ia haram di Malaysia.

Presiden Pembela Dr Yusri Mohamad berkata komuniti Kristian yang menuntut mahu menggunakan kalimah “Allah” dalam Alkitab mahu memurtadkan orang Islam dan memeluk agama Kristian.

“Kita berdepan dengan kumpulan Kristrian yang agresif.

“Tuntutan terhadap Alkitab, kalimah Allah ada kaitan dengan penyebaran agama Kristian... mereka gunakan strategi ini untuk mempengaruhi orang Islam, dengan menggunakan cara sama dengan agama Islam,” katanya.
