Setiausaha Agung BN Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor mendakwa NGO pendidikan Cina Dong Zong yang berkeras membantah pelan pembangunan pendidikan negara, sebagai 'tamak'.

"Dong Zong ni, apa yang kita buat ini salah. Saya nak beritahu Dong Zong ini supaya mereka mengingat kembali tentang sejarah. Pada 1980 di mana tahap sekolah cina. Tanya dialah sendiri.

"Yang membangunkan sekolah cina, memperbaiki tahap sekolah cina dengan baik adalah MCA melalui BN.

"Dan kita telah membangunkannya, tapi dia... Ini kadangkala mereka ini... Bila saya sebut nanti orang marah... Sebab kerana ketamakan mereka... Ini jadi masalah," katanya dalam satu sidang media hari ini.

Sebaliknya, kata Tengku Adnan, NGO itu sepatutnya memikirkan kepentingan anak-anak mereka dan apa yang telah dilakukan oleh Umno, MCA dan MCA selepas tahun tersebut yang mahu memastikan sekolah Cina bertambah baik.

"Sebab itu hari ini banyak orang hendak hantar budak-budak ke sekolah Cina. Dulu sebelum 1980 orang Cina tak nak hantar ke sekolah Cina, kenapa?

"Itulah sebabnya ada satu program yang dilaksanakan oleh kementerian pelajaran untuk menggubal semula dasar pendidikan negara supaya lebih ramai untuk datang ke sekolah yang ditaja oleh kerajaan. Itu yang hendak kita lakukan," katanya.

Sekalipun mengakui wujudnya kecacatan walaupun BN mentadbir lebih 55 tahun, Tengku Adnan yang juga setiausaha agung Umno berkata perkara tersebut sedang diperbetulkan oleh Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

"Beri peluang untuk (kita) membetulkannya. Ini yang kami mahu lakukan. Kami cuma nak betulkan sistem pendidikan, ekonomi dan banyak lagi," katanya yang juga ahli parlimen Putrajaya.

Tengku Adnan menjawab soalan pemberita berhubung jemputan NGO itu kepada Umno dan semua parti politik supaya bersama-sama mereka membantah pelan pembangunan pendidikannegara dengan menyertai perhimpunan besar-besaran pada 25 November ini.
