Kuching police chief’s niece aboard missing MAS flight – Bernama
Kuching Police chief ACP Roslan Bek Ahmad said his niece was a passenger on the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) plane that went missing today on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
He said his sister Rohani Ahmad, living in Section 19 Shah Alam, confirmed that his niece, Suhaili Mustafa, 31, was one of the 227 passengers on flight MH370 which departed Kuala Lumpur at 12.41am.
The Boeing 777-200 aircraft, also carrying 12 crew, lost contact with the Subang air traffic control at 2.40am when it was in the airspace over the South China Sea between Malaysia and Vietnam.
Roslan said he would take emergency leave and be with his sister, a widow, as she was traumatised and in need of support.
"I have to go to Kuala Lumpur this evening to give her moral support and help my sister in whatever way I can," he said, adding that his sister was already at the KL International Airport to learn of the developments.
During his absence, Kuching Police deputy chief Supt Fauzilan Abdul Aziz would act in his capacity, he said. – Bernama, March 8, 2014.
