MEDAN (Indonesia), 12 Jun (Bernama) -- Eksesais gabungan bersama

Malaysia-Indonesia (Malindo) kali ini yang memberi tumpuan kepada latihan

menghadapi ancaman pengganas disifatkan sebagai langkah awal untuk dua negara

berkenaan mencegah ancaman itu.

Panglima Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM) Jen Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin

berkata eksesais yang dijalankan bersama Tentera Nasional Indonesia (TNI) itu

turut menekankan aspek latihan operasi ketenteraan dalam menghadapi ancaman itu

yang disifatkan beliau sebagai ancaman merentasi sempadan.

"Eksesais ini lebih kepada memberi tumpuan kepada melawan keganasan...pada

eksesais lepas yang diadakan di Malaysia, kami ada jalankan latihan melawan

ancaman pengganas, namun tidak dilaksana secara menyeluruh.

"Belajar daripada pengalaman lepas, kami telah merangka beberapa strategi

untuk dimantapkan pada eksesais kali ini, dan hasil daripada eksesais yang telah

kami jalankan, saya amat berpuas hati," katanya kepada pemberita selepas Majlis

Penutupan Latihan Gabungan bersama di darat, laut dan udara (Eksesais Malindo

Latgabma Darsasa 8AB 2013). Turut Hadir Panglima TNI Laksamana Agus Suhartono.

Zulkifeli berkata ancaman pengganas yang juga dikenali ''non traditional

threat'' itu menuntut komitmen kedua-dua pihak untuk bergabung serta saling

bertukar maklumat bagi memastikan keselamatan rantau Asean terutama sempadan

Malaysia-Indonesia bebas daripada ancaman pengganas.

TENTERA-PENGGANAS 2 (AKHIR) MEDAN

Sebelum ini, dalam acara pembukaan Jumaat lepas, Zulkifeli berkata siri

eksesais itu akan diadakan tiga tahun sekali berbanding empat tahun sebelum

ini yang dilihat sebagai satu daripada usaha untuk meningkatkan kawalan

keselamatan serantau.

Terdahulu dalam ucapan penutupan eksesais itu, Zulkifeli berkata ATM dan TNI

harus bergerak seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi semasa dalam ketenteraan

kerana isu menangani ancaman pengganas bukan sesuatu yang mudah, sebaliknya ia

menuntut kesepakatan bersama.

Dalam pada itu, eksesais kali kelapan yang bermula 3 Jun itu, menekankan

tiga aspek latihan iaitu aksi latihan penyerbuan ke atas pesawat penumpang,

serbuan ke atas sebuah kapal dagang dan serbuan ke atas pusat membeli-belah yang

ditawan pengganas.

Eksesais kali ini melibatkan pasukan khusus (Gerup Gerak Khas, Pasukan Khas

Tentera Laut, Pasukan Khas Tentera Udara) dari ketiga-tiga cabang ATM dan TNI

yang terdiri daripada 1,478 orang iaitu 298 dari ATM manakala bakinya daripada

TNI.

Eksesais yang bermula pada tahun 1984 itu diadakan di Melaka pada tahun 2010

dan tahun ini ia berlangsung di Medan, Indonesia.
