Mahkamah Persekutuan hari ini menolak permohonan Menteri Dalam Negeri Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi untuk mengenepikan saman yang dikemukakan ke atasnya oleh seorang ahli perniagaan.

Presiden Mahkamah Rayuan Tan Sri Md Raus Sharif yang mengetuai panel lima orang hakim, mengenepikan permohonan Zahid sebelum mendengar hujah dari peguam Zahid, Shamsul Bahrin.

Hakim berkenaan mendapati alasan perundangan yang perlu dikemukakan ke mahkamah tidak dijalankan dengan sebaiknya kerana dibuat melalui hujahan dan bukannya dengan notis usul.

Katanya, pemohon tersebut tidak kehilangan peluang untuk melalui proses rayuan memandangkan kes tersebut masih belum dibicarakan di Mahkamah Tinggi Shah Alam.

"Biarlah perbicaraan dijalankan di Mahkamah Tinggi," kata Hakim Md Raus.

Tambahnya, kes lain yang sepatutnya berjalan akan terhalang sekiranya mahkamah membenarkan permohonan tersebut.

Dengan keputusan tersebut, perbicaraan kes saman sivil oleh ahli perniagaan Amir Bazli Abdullah ke atas menteri tersebut akan bermula di Mahkamah Tinggi Shah Alam pada 26 Ogos.
