JAKARTA, 27 Jun (Bernama) -- Malaysia dan Indonesia bersetuju bekerjasama

untuk mencari penyelesaian kekal kepada masalah jerebu yang menjejaskan rantau

ini, kata Menteri Sumber Asli dan Alam Sekitar Datuk Seri G. Palanivel.

"Malaysia menyuarakan harapan agar pegawai kerajaan dari kedua-dua negara

akan sentiasa bekerjasama dalam memantau dan memeriksa titik panas, terutamanya

semasa musim kemarau bagi mencegah kebakaran hutan dan gambut yang menyumbang

kepada masalah jerebu."

Beliau bercakap kepada wartawan Malaysia selepas bertemu Menteri Alam

Sekitar Indonesia Dr Balthasar Kambuaya, di sini hari ini.

Pertemuan beliau dengan rakan sejawatan dari Indonesia itu berlangsung

dengan mesra. Palanivel turut menyerahkan kepada Balthasar sepucuk surat

daripada Perdana Menteri Malaysia Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak kepada

Presiden Indonesia Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

Dalam pertemuan itu, Palanivel memaklumkan Balthasar bahawa Malaysia sedia

menawarkan bantuan kepada Indonesia dalam usaha memadamkan kebakaran hutan dan

gambut terutamanya di tengah Sumatera, termasuk menghantar anggota bomba dan

pasukan pengeboman air selain pasukan pembenihan awan.

PALANIVEL-JEREBU 2 JAKARTA

"Kami sebenarnya sangat bimbang dengan kekerapan berulangnya jerebu rentas

sempadan ini.

"Apa yang penting ialah untuk kita bekerjasama dengan Indonesia. Apabila

berlaku saja masalah jerebu, kita perlu bekerjasama untuk menyelesaikan masalah

ini segera. Jadi, kita memerlukan penyelesaian jangka pendek dan panjang,"

katanya.

Palanivel berkata Malaysia mengharapkan kerjasama dan tindakan muktamad

Indonesia, bagi jangka panjang dan pendek, dalam menangani keadaan, sambil

Malaysia bersedia menyalurkan segala bentuk bantuan teknikal termasuk menghantar

tenaga manusia, peralatan, pasukan pengeboman air dan melakukan pembenihan awan

di tengah Sumatera atau mana-mana kawasan lain di Indonesia.

Beliau berkata menteri Indonesia itu menyatakan persetujuan bersyarat kepada

sebarang bentuk bantuan teknikal yang ditawarkan Malaysia dalam usaha memadamkan

kebakaran.

"Bagaimanapun, Balthasar berkata beliau akan berbincang dengan rakan

setugasnya di kementerian lain yang berkaitan seperti kementerian pertanian dan

kementerian perhutanan untuk menyediakan maklumat berkaitan bantuan yang akan

mereka mohon."

PALANIVEL-JEREBU 3 (AKHIR) JAKARTA

Mengenai dakwaan terdapat lapan syarikat Malaysia terlibat dalam pembakaran

terbuka di semua ladang sawit mereka di Riau, yang dikatakan menjadi punca

jerebu itu dan menjejaskan dengan teruk kualiti udara, Palanivel berkata hanya

empat daripada syarikat berkenaan adalah dari Malaysia dan kesemuanya menafikan

sebarang pembabitan dalam aktiviti itu.

Syarikat Malaysia, katanya, mengamalkan pembakaran sifar dalam aktiviti

penanaman semula mereka dan tiada aktiviti penanaman semula oleh syarikat

berkenaan tahun ini.

Dalam pertemuan itu, Balthasar turut memaklumkan Palanivel bahawa Indonesia

menugaskan 2,600 anggota tentera ke Riau untuk memadamkan kebakaran dan sehingga

kini, pasukan bencana itu menggunakan 80 bom air untuk memadamkan api.

Kedua-dua menteri bersetuju bertemu dengan kerap untuk berbincang dan

mencari jalan bagi menamatkan masalah itu, yang berlaku setiap tahun.
