Malaysia seeks Interpol help to extradite ATM hacker – Bernama

Police have sought assistance from the London Interpol to extradite a man to facilitate investigations into the hacking of 17 automated teller machines (ATM) involving a RM3 million loss in September.

Bukit Aman Commercial CID (Cyber and Multimedia Crime) deputy director, SAC Mohd Kamrudin Md Din said the suspect, Paladi Grigore, 37, was now being held in UK for a similar crime in that country.

The police had also held discussions with Attorney-General's office on the matter.

"We will discuss with the Attorney-General's office under mutual legal assistance...as we have good ties with the Interpol police.

"We needed strong evidence to charge the suspect.

According to Interpol, they have found collaborative evidence such as the same hat and clothes were recorded in the closed-circuit television footage obtained from the Malaysia police," he told Bernama today. – Bernama, December 19, 2014.
