IPOH, 21 Nov (Bernama) -- "Saya dengar bunyi brek dari arah belakang dan

dalam sekelip mata saya berada di tepi longkang dan melihat rakan-rakan lain

tersepit di bawah treler".

Menceritakan detik kemalangan maut yang mengorbankan empat pekerja Projek

Penyelenggaraan Lebuhraya Berhad (Propel) di kilometer 294.1 Lebuhraya

Utara-Selatan awal hari ini, Dino Azmi, 36, berkata ketika itu beliau bersama

pekerja lain sedang menjalankan kerja penyelenggaraan di lebuh raya itu.

Kemalangan berhampiran Gopeng pada pukul 4.30 pagi itu menyebabkan empat

lagi pekerja Propel serta pemandu dan kelindan treler terlibat cedera.

Dino berkata rempuhan kuat treler membawa muatan coklat itu menyebabkan

sebahagian mangsa terpelanting dan terperosok di bawah treler.

"Saya sempat melihat treler itu merempuh empat kenderaan yang diletakkan di

lorong kecemasan.

KEMALANGAN-MANGSA 2 IPOH

"Sedar-sedar saya sudah berada di tepi longkang. Saya kemudian merangkak ke

arah rakan-rakan lain yang tersepit di bawah lori," katanya kepada pemberita

ketika ditemui di Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB) di sini.

Mereka yang maut ialah Ismady Mohd Rodzi, 32, Shaharuddin Abd Aziz, 51, dari

Kuala Kangsar, Mohd Shafie Ismail, 56, dari Taman Shatin Baru, Ipoh dan Hafiz

Yunus, 39, dari Kuala Lumpur.

Selain Dino, tiga lagi pekerja Propel yang cedera ialah Azhan Ismail, 44,

Mahyuddin Idris, 48, dan Shafudin Abdul Jalil, 31, manakala pemandu treler yang

turut cedera hanya dikenali sebagai Zulkifli dan kelindannya Mohd Rozi Mat

Sharif, 44.

Dino berkata hanya beliau yang mampu merangkak untuk mendapatkan bantuan

manakala rakannya yang lain mengerang kesakitan.

"Hanya saya yang mampu bersuara dan bergerak ketika itu dan saya hanya

sempat menarik Ismady.

KEMALANGAN-MANGSA 3 (AKHIR) IPOH

"Saya terpaksa menelefon sendiri pihak hospital untuk mendapatkan bantuan

kerana tidak ada satu kereta pun yang berhenti sejurus kejadian berlaku,"

katanya.

Dino berkata sebelum kejadian, dia bersama Ismady dan Mahyuddin sempat

menikmati makan malam sebelum menerima panggilan kecemasan yang meminta mereka

bekerja.

"Kami bergerak dengan keadaan tergesa-gesa...Saya tak sangka itulah

detik-detik terakhir saya bersama Ismady. Masa itu dia (Ismady) tak pula

tunjukkan perangai pelik," katanya.

Sementara itu adik kepada Ismady, Mohd Fairuz Mohd Rodzi, 26, berkata

abangnya yang merupakan anak kedua dari tiga beradik itu keluar dari rumah

mereka di Bercham kira-kira pukul 8 malam tadi selepas menikmati makan

malam.

"Saya tak sangka itu saat-saat akhir kami bersama sebelum dia meninggalkan

kami untuk selama-lamanya," katanya dengan nada yang tenang.

Mohd Fairuz berkata beliau pernah diberitahu bahawa abangnya itu ingin

berhenti kerja di syarikat berkenaan kerana sering bertugas pada lewat malam.

Mohd Shahrul, 29, anak kepada Mohd Shafie yang ditemui di Hospital Kampar

pula berkata beliau sempat meluangkan masa bersama ayahnya ketika pulang bercuti

di rumah keluarganya di sini minggu lepas.
