KUALA LUMPUR, 10 Sept (Bernama) -- Merchantrade Sdn Bhd, penyedia

perkhidmatan pemindahan wang, berhasrat mencapai RM3.5 bilion transaksi kiriman

wang menerusi perkhidmatan kiriman wang mudah alih yang baharu diperkenalkan,

Doowit, dalam tempoh tiga tahun.

Pengarah Urusan, Ramasamy Veeran berkata untuk memenuhi sasaran itu,

syarikat akan memperkenalkan 700 pusat Doowit dalam 24 bulan.

"Kami berhasrat meningkatkan penguasaan pasaran kami di kalangan penyedia

perkhidmatan kiriman wang, bank-bank dan bukan bank di Malaysia kepada 30

peratus dalam tempoh tiga tahun berbanding 10 peratus pada masa ini," kata

beliau kepada pemberita selepas melancarkan perkhidmatan itu di sini hari ini.

Turut hadir ialah Datuk Seri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly, Ketua Pegawai

Eksekutif Celcom Axiata Bhd, rakan niaga Merchantrade dalam perkhidmatan

telekomunikasi.

Ramasamy berkata Merchantrade, pengendali rangkaian maya mudah alih (MVNO),

turut menyasar menggandakan pelanggan perkhidmatan mudah alih prabayarnya dengan

pelancaran Doowit.

Pada masa ini, beliau berkata, syarikat mempunyai 300,000 pelanggan

perkhidmatan mudah alih prabayar sejak pelantikannya sebagai MVNO oleh Celcom

pada 2007.

Dengan memanfaatkan infrastruktur telekomunikasi Celcom, Doowit menawarkan

perkhidmatan kiriman wang mudah alih ke negara-negara serantau seperti India,

Nepal, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Pakistan, Filipina, Bangladesh, Myanmar dan

Vietnam.

Beliau berkata untuk menggunakan perkhidmatan itu, pelanggan perkhidmatan

mudah alih prabayar Merchantrade hanya perlu pergi ke pusat-pusat Doowit, yang

juga dikenali sebagai "ejen tunai" atau cawangan kiriman wang

Merchantrade untuk menunaikan dompet mudah alih masing-masing.

Beliau berkata yang perkhidmatan itu menawarkan fleksibiliti kepada para

pengguna untuk membuat transaksi kiriman wang dari mana-mana jua di Malaysia

dengan liputan Celcom.

Merchantrade, pemegang lesen Kelas A di bawah Akta Perniagaan Perkhidmatan

Wang 2011, telah membuat lebih daripada 1.5 juta transaksi luar bernilai RM1.5

bilion setiap tahun daripada 64 cawangan seluruh negara kepada 170,000 lokasi

pembayaran keluar di Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia, Vietnam, Filipina, Myanmar,

India, Pakistan dan Sri Lanka.
