SERI KEMBANGAN, 3 Dis (Bernama)-- Projek pulau buatan di luar pantai Melaka,

"Mestika Heritage Island", yang dianggarkan mempunyai nilai pembangunan kasar

(GDV) lebih RM20 bilion, akan menjadi pusat perdagangan bertaraf dunia yang

pertama menjelang 2020.

"Projek ini, yang dijangka menelan belanja RM15 bilion dengan keluasan 600

hektar, akan menjadi pusat ekonomi kepada Malaysia dan seluruh dunia," kata

Pengerusi Mestika Megan Sdn Bhd Mohd Jasmi Mohammad Jais kepada media.

Mestika Megan Sdn Bhd, yang diwakili Mohd Jasmi hari ini menandatangani

memorandum persefahaman (MoU) dengan konglomerat dari China, Dewan Perniagaan

Gansu Qinghai, iaitu pelabur dalam projek mega tersebut.

Dewan Perniagaan Gansu Qinghai adalah satu konglomerat, yang menghimpunkan

kesemua perniagaan Islam di China.

Mestika Megan Sdn Bhd turut bekerjasama dengan syarikat EIPU Holdings dan

menubuhkan Mestika IEPU JV Sdn Bhd, yang akan melaksanakan pembangunan "Mestika

Heritage Island."

Jasmi berkata projek Mestika Heritage Island itu yang dijangka mengambil

masa selama lima hingga tujuh tahun untuk disiapkan sepenuhnya dan akan

dibahagikan kepada dua fasa.

"Fasa pertama projek ini melibatkan dua pulau yang berdekatan, Kerja-kerja

penambakan itu melibatkan lima jenis pembangunan di atas satu pulau yang

berkeluasan 256 hektar. Ia akan dimulakan pada awal tahun depan dan dijangka

siap dalam tempoh tiga tahun."

"Bagi projek pulau kedua pada fasa pertama, ia melibatkan tujuh jenis

pembangunan, yang melibatkan keluasan 280 hektar," katanya, sambil menyatakan

bahawa lima projek itu melibat pembangunan rumah kelab dan padang golf, taman

tema dan Laguna Villa.

Bagi fasa kedua pula, antara infrastruktur yang akan dibina adalah institut

pengajian yang bakal dinamakan "Institut Cheng Ho", pusat perdagangan yang

mengumpulkan kesemua 57 ahli peniaga dari negara-negara Pertubuhan Kerjasama

Islam (OIC) dan juga kampung warisan.

Yang turut hadir pada majlis itu ialah Naib Presiden Eksekutif Dewan

Perniagaan Gansu Qinghai Ma Hu Cheng.

"Taraf ekonomi Malaysia yang semakin meningkat merupakan faktor utama kami

memilih untuk melabur di sini, dan secara tidak langsung menjadikan Malaysia

sebuah hab halal terbesar di dunia," kata Ma, melalui seorang penterjemah.

Ma, bagi pihak Dewan Perniagaan Gansu Qinghai dan China, berkata mereka mahu

mengulangi peristiwa sejarah 600 tahun dahulu di mana Melaka merupakan sebuah

negara strategik yang dijadikan pusat perdagangan.

Di negara tersebut, Dewan Perniagaan Gansu Qinghai adalah satu syarikat

konglomerat terbesar bagi Cina Islam.

Setakat ini, lebih kurang 10 syarikat kontraktor tempatan dan luar negara

telah dikenal pasti untuk membangunkan projek terbesar di Melaka itu dan lima

daripada syarikat itu akan dipilih untuk membangunkan Mestika Heritage Island.
