Match Racing Malaysia (MMRC) di Pulau Duyong, di sini pada 28 hingga 30 Nov

untuk meningkatkan mata terkumpul daripada keseluruhan empat sirkit sekali gus

menaikkan ranking dunia dan dinobatkan penentu juara keseluruhan.

Naib Presiden Persatuan Pelayaran Malaysia Datuk Wan Hisham Wan Salleh

berkata tiga nama pasukan pelayaran yang mencipta nama di tiga siri MMRC seperti

Jeremy Koo, Hazwan Hazim dan Masyuri Rahmat berpeluang merebut slot wild card

negarakerana mereka antara mengumpul mata tertinggi.

"Buat masa ini, saingan masih terbuka dan tertumpu antara mereka bertiga

di mana hanya satu pasukan negara yang akan mewakili negara dalam kejohanan

berprestij bersama 11 lagi pasukan terbaik dunia.

"Oleh itu, juara keseluruhan bagi acara MMRC secara automatik akan layak

mewakili Malaysia ke acara Piala Monsun 2012," katanya kepada pemberita selepas

sidang akhbar pengenalan Piala Monsun 2012 di sini hari ini.

SUKAN-PELAYARAN 2 (AKHIR) KUALA TERENGGANU

Wan Hisham yang juga selaku Pengarah T-Best Events dalam penganjuran Piala

Monsun 2012 berkata lapan pasukan terbaik dengan tiga lagi wild card dari luar

negara akan berkumpul di Pulau Duyong bermula hujung November ini.

"Kali ini kita menjangkakan seramai 150,000 pengunjung berbanding yang

dicapai seramai 140,000 pengunjung pada tahun lepas. Kita (penganjur) akan

mengadakan pelbagai aktiviti dan karnival selama seminggu bagi menarik

pengunjung seterusnya meningkatkan ekonomi setempat," katanya.

MMRC telah bermula pada 11-13 Mei di Pangkalan Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia,

Tanjung Muroh, Lumut, Perak, diikuti di Marina Jabatan Laut, Pulau Indah, Klang,

Selangor pada 29 Jun-1 Julai yang telah menyaksikan Jeremy dari Koo Racing Team

muncul juara pada kedua-dua acara seterusnya mendahului dengan 69 mata.

Ini diekori rapat oleh Masyuri (Royal Malaysian Navy Match Racing Team 1)

dengan perbezaan tiga mata (66 mata) yang menjuarai sirkit ketiga di Tanjung

Leman, Johor pada 28-30 Sept lalu sementara Hazwan Hazim (Permai Hotel Match

Racing Team) pula di kedudukan ketiga selepas mengumpul 60 mata.

Kejohanan Piala Monsun 2012 dianjurkan oleh T-Best Events, Persatuan

Pelayaran Malaysia dan Kerajaan Negeri Terengganu.
